Chapter 924
Ava balled up her fists, seething with anger. She could never measure up to Bryan because of her last name.
It was bad enough being overshadowed by Bryan. But it was unbearable for her that Haley got to laugh at her.
Ava took a step forward in her high heels and sneered, "Haley, you really think you have a say in the Lumi Family as Mrs. Winston? Keep dreaming! When I become the heir, the first thing I'll do is kick you out!"
Rage bubbled up in Haley. Her nails dug into her palms as she tried to keep her cool.
"Your mom had an affair with Cauth before she got married. She joined the Deross Family while pregnant with a bastard. How could she do that?" Haley stayed quiet, and Ava thought she was scared, so she kept going, "You've got your mom's loose morals. You slept with Ivan at eighteen, got knocked up, and had four illegitimate kids."
Ava pointed her finger right in Haley's face, full of disdain and mockery.
Haley's brow furrowed. Before she knew it, she grabbed Ava's finger. In a cold voice, she said, "How dare you point at me?"
Then, Haley suddenly twisted, breaking Ava's finger.
Ava's scream echoed through the Lumi Villa. People quickly rushed to the bathroom.
"Mom!" Ava cried, clutching her broken finger as she threw herself into Hollis's arms, "Haley... broke my finger. It... it hurts so much."
She was in so much pain she could barely speak.
Hollis saw Ava's limp finger, clearly broken. She instantly became furious. "You really are an illegitimate child raised outside. How dare you hurt my daughter?"
With that, Hollis raised her hand to slap Haley. Cauth squinted and rushed to stop her, but Ivan was quicker. He grabbed Hollis's wrist and forcefully threw it aside.
Hollis lost her balance and nearly fell with Ava.
"Mr. Winston, are you bullying the weak?" Hollis asked coldly, barely containing her anger, "Ava's finger is broken, and I must get justice!"
She wanted to break Haley's finger in return.
Bark stayed silent, his face stern. He knew there was bad blood between Haley and Ava, and arguments were frequent. He hadn't expected it to get physical. Ava's broken finger was no small injury.
"Grandpa, you have to stand up for me," Ava cried, tears streaming down her face, "Haley said I have no right to be the heir of the Lumi Group with the Evans last name. I got so mad and argued with her, but she just broke my finger. Is my hand going to be useless? I still need to draw and play the piano. What will I do if my hand is ruined?"
Just as Ivan was about to speak, Haley stopped him.
