Sterling stood up and extended his right hand. "I look forward to working with you, Haley."
Haley also stood up and shook hands with Sterling. "I look forward to working with you too, Mr. Zephyr."
When her hand touched him, she felt a chilling sensation spread from her fingertips to her spine. The cold was even more severe than the air in a refrigerator.
She merely symbolically touched Sterling's hand before swiftly pulling away.
Sterling withdrew his hand and placed it in his pants pocket. He spoke in a cold tone, "After the bidding meeting ends today, there’ll be a celebration banquet tomorrow night. Remember to attend, Haley."
He instructed his secretary to escort Haley and Ariana out without waiting for Haley's response.
Once they were outside, the sunlight fell on their shoulders, and Ariana let out a sigh of relief. "Didn’t you think Mr. Zephyr was strange, Haley?"
Haley nodded. "He was a bit peculiar, but luckily, we won't need to interact with him much in the future."
"That's true." Ariana laughed. "You're really amazing, Haley. You quietly secured a big project. Our company won't have to worry for the next three years."
Meanwhile, at the Lumi Group...
"What did you say?" Hollis looked up. A hint of astonishment showed on her well-maintained face. "You're saying the chief chip designer position for the Vanguard Corporation's new project has been assigned to someone else?"
The assistant stood nervously in front of the desk. "Yes. Mrs. Lumi, Mr. Zephyr's secretary, called me personally."
Hollis put down her pen and sighed. "Do you know the chip designer the Vanguard Corporation chose? Do you have any news?"
The assistant paused before replying, "I heard it was the CEO of a newly established small company, Mrs. DeRoss. This morning, Mrs. DeRoss went to the Vanguard Corporation and officially signed the contract with them..."
This meant that the Lumi Group no longer had a chance.
Hollis frowned and pressed her temples. "I can’t believe a newly established small company managed to snatch the project from me. There must be something strange going on here."
"Mrs. Lumi, I also heard that Haley only spent five hours creating a project that amazed all the executives at the Vanguard Corporation. That was why they chose a small company instead of the Lumi Group."
Hollis's gaze turned icy.

Haley frowned when she saw the message on the screen.
Why had Ivan taken the children to the Winston family when they were perfectly fine at home?
Would things go smoothly today if Keith and Greer stayed with her like they did yesterday?
