Chapter 131 This is Not a Nail Salon

Eva walked out of the manager's office with a gloomy face.

Mia snorted, "A new boss always wants to take down the previous manager first. Eva, if you want to stay at the DeRoss Group, say a few good words for me. Maybe I'll talk to Emily and persuade her to let you continue at the company."

Eva looked at her with a complicated look. "Aren't you worried at all?"

"What should I be worried about?" Mia sneered. "I'm Emily's best friend, and she listens to whatever I say!"

She had been involved in Emily's plot to frame Haley in the past, which meant she held Emily's biggest secret. So as long as it was her request, Emily would rarely refuse.

She looked at Eva with a haughty expression. "During your time as manager, you often gave me a hard time. But I let bygones be bygones. If you apologize to me, I'll call Emily immediately."

Eva's face darkened.

Was it her who gave Mia a hard time, or did Mia deliberately cause trouble for her?

She took a deep breath and said, "No need."

She quickly walked into the file room.

"Hmph!" Mia sneered. "You're almost getting fired, but you still act like a manager. It's ridiculous!"

She sat down at her desk, twisting her waist and took out nail polish from her drawer, completely disregarding this place as an office area.

Eva came out with the files and seeing Mia’s appearance, her previously suppressed anger immediately rose again.

She was certain that as soon as Haley saw this performance report, Mia would be fired for sure.

However, Mia was Emily's friend.

If Emily were fired, it would surely bring a lot of trouble.

Just as she started her position, causing dissatisfaction among the higher-ups because of this matter, it was more of a disadvantage than an advantage for Haley...

Eva pondered on how to persuade Haley while walking. She decided to temporarily suppress her anger and take it slowly...

Just then, Haley walked out of the office holding a cup of water.

She had come out to pour water, only to witness Mia shamelessly painting her nails in the office, the smell of nail polish lingering in the air.

She coldly put down the cup and walked over.

"Mia, Mia..."

Someone whispered beside her, but Mia didn't hear it as she hummed and painted her nails.

"You're doing a good job with that nail polish. You could open a nail salon," a cold voice came from above.

Mia quickly responded, "Running a nail salon is too tiring. My thin arms and legs can't handle it..."

After speaking, she suddenly felt something was off and raised her head, only to meet Haley's cold, dark eyes.

She was startled and straightened her body.

Then, she realized that she might have overreacted.

Haley has been trampled under Emily's feet for so many years, what can she do to her?

Thinking of this, she straightened her chest and locked eyes with Haley.

"Hand me those."

Haley reached out her hand towards Eva.
