Chapter 274 What Did You Guys Do to My Sister?
It was clear Owen had met Angela first. He liked Angela more, so he didn't understand why it turned out this way.
Tears brimmed in the little guy's eyes, his red-rimmed eyes a stark contrast to his flushed cheeks.
Owen couldn't hold back anymore. He rushed forward, shoving Keith aside.
"Angie, let's go finish that puzzle." Owen gripped Angela's hand. "Remember how much fun we were having? We've only done half. Let's complete the rest, okay?"
Angela delicate brows furrowed as she forcefully shook off Owen's grip.
However, Owen held on tightly.
"Owen, can't you see Angie's upset?" Keith frowned. "Let go."
"I won't!"
Stubbornly, Owen stood his ground, gripping the little girl's wrist tightly.
It was one thing for Todd to vie for Angela's attention. After all, that guy was Angela's actual brother. Now, Keith was taking her away from him too.
Owen adored Angela and did so much for her. He didn't understand why she would treat him this way.
Owen felt a lump in his throat and wanted to cry, but he took a deep breath and forced back the tears.
A chill flickered in Keith's eyes.
He looked down to see that Angela's wrist was red and swollen.
"Owen, I'm telling you one last time, let go!" Keith's voice grew colder.
Owen remained unyielding; his back straight, refusing to release his hold..
Keith stepped forward, prying Owen's fingers open.
Finally, Angie's wrist was freed, the girl flinching as she ducked behind Keith like a startled rabbit.
Her eyes were wary and disdainful as they met Owen's.
Overwhelmed, Owen burst into loud sobs.
Ivan saw everything and came over, speaking indifferently, "Before you cry, take a look at Angie's wrist."
Between his sobs, Owen looked over.
The redness on her delicate, pale wrist was unsettling.
"You say you like Angie. Is this your so-called affection?" Ivan's tone was icy. "Go to your room and think about what you've done. You can only come down after you repent."
Owen's cries caught in his throat. "I'm sorry, Angie. I didn't mean to."
Angie stayed behind Keith, eyes downcast, fists clenched tightly.
"I'll think about what I've done. I'll reflect on it."
Crying, Owen ran up the stairs and slammed his bedroom door shut.
Ivan pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing.
Two days ago, he had noticed that Angela seemed a bit aloof toward Owen, and he couldn't quite figure out why back then.
Now, it all made sense. The kid had always been rough around the edges and probably hurt Angela at some point, and she hadn't let it go.
Keith sat down on the couch next to Angela, his voice gentle. "Owen really likes you, but he doesn't know how to show it properly and must have accidentally hurt you. Don't hold it against him."
Angela's eyes were downcast, her eyelashes fluttered.
"What did you guys do to my sister?"
Todd burst into the living room to find Angela visibly distressed.
Angela usually wore an impassive expression, neither joyful nor sad, as if untouched by the world's troubles.
Now, the young girl's eyes were red, her lashes quivering, a shimmer of tears gathering beneath them.
