Chapter 461
The air in the living room suddenly became stagnant.
Ivan brought the box from the coffee table and threw it in front of Mrs. Winston. "Who sent this?"
Mrs. Winston's eyes flickered with guilt, but she pretended to be calm and said, "A long-lost friend sent it. Is there a problem?"
"Mom, do you really think I'm a fool?" Ivan curled his mouth into a cold smile. "On the bottom right corner of this box, his signature is written. It's a habit of Martin Winston's for many years. He knows I'm afraid I have to disagree with you seeing him, yet he still signed his name on the gift box he gave you. What is his intention, Mom? Don't you understand?"
Tears welled up in Mrs. Winston's eyes.
She looked at the word written on the gift box, her voice trembling: "Ivan, he is your real brother. Can you accept him? He has changed and turned over a new leaf. Can you give him another chance?"
"I will give him a chance, but who will give Dad a chance?" Ivan's voice was filled with sorrow. "If giving him a chance could bring Dad back to life, then I would give him a hundred chances!"
Mrs. Winston covered her face and started crying. "Your father was terminally ill. Whether he died early or late, he was still going to die. Why do you always think that it was your brother's fault that caused your father's death?"
Ivan's face turned cold, not wanting to say another word.
Because of that incident, he lost his father, and the whole Winston family was almost destroyed.
In his lifetime, he would never be able to forgive Martin Winston.
He took a step, went upstairs to the study, and made a phone call. "Contact the president of Vanguard Corporation and transfer Sterling back to the European region..."
Outside the study, the two children quietly returned to their rooms.
Owen couldn't believe it. "How come Dad had another brother? Why have I never heard Dad talk about him?"
"According to biology, twin genes are hereditary. We are quadruplets, so Dad must be at least a twin," Keith said with a serious face. "It's just that it seems like there was some misunderstanding between Dad and Uncle because of Grandpa's affairs."
Owen scratched her head. "Based on what Dad said, Grandpa seems to have passed away because of Uncle. This is not a misunderstanding. It's clearly a blood feud!"
Keith pursed his lips and didn't say anything more.
The grudges between the previous generation were not manageable for the two of them as children.
A night away from home made no difference from before leaving.
Haley bathed Angela and put the little girl to sleep before starting to tidy up the living room and clean the house.
Todd obediently brought her a mop. "Mom, I'll help you."
Haley suddenly felt heartache.
If Todd had grown up in the Winston family, with so many servants taking care of him, he wouldn't have to suffer like this.
The earlier children mature and understand, the more it proves that she, as a mother, is inadequate.
"Todd, I'm sorry." Haley touched Todd's head, her eyes filled with self-blame.
Todd raised his little head and smiled obediently. "Mom, actually, big brother and second brother envy my little sister and me because we get to live with mom for four years. We get to be with Mom every day, but they can't... My little sister and I are happier than my big brother and second brother. Mom, why do you say sorry?"
