All eyes were fixed on Haley.
She was naturally stunning, and her pink dress made her even more dazzling among the crowd.
She held a glass of champagne and raised an eyebrow casually. "How is it my fault that Mrs. Lumi's proposal went missing?"
"Haley, are you trying to avoid all responsibility?" Hollis sneered, a touch of mockery on her lips. "Why don't you enlighten us, then, how you managed to complete such a complex chip design in just one day?"
"Complex?" Haley frowned. "Are chip design proposals really that difficult in Mrs. Lumi's eyes?"
Hollis' face immediately turned pale.
In her forty years of life, no one had ever dared to speak to her in such a tone.
This girl not only stole her design proposal, but she also dared to argue in front of everyone. Did she really think Hollis was someone easily provoked?
She coldly laughed. "Copying is naturally not difficult for Haley."
Her words settled the matter.
Haley chuckled lightly. "Mrs. Lumi accuses me of plagiarism without any evidence. I can sue you for defamation."
Hollis kept a cold expression. "Anyone with eyes can see what happened today. Do you really want to take this to court, Haley?"
The blameful gazes of the people in the banquet hall turned toward Haley.
"Haley, you're at fault in this matter. What do you hope to gain by taking this to court?"
Haley glanced at Hollis with cold eyes and said, "Hollis, you don't think that just because the two sets of proposal documents look different, it proves that I didn't plagiarize, do you?"
Haley shrugged. "Since Mrs. Lumi believes I plagiarized, there's no point in me saying anything."
Hollis sneered, about to look away, but noticed something familiar in Haley's seemingly indifferent demeanor...
