Chapter 120 The Nightmares

This man was either stupid or despicable, clearly still unwilling to take responsibility.

Ivan simply felt baffled.

He was earnestly discussing the issue of child education with her, so why was she suddenly looking at him with such eyes?

As if he was a piece of dog poop that everyone despised on the side of the road.

Ivan: "..." He took a deep breath and asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing." Haley withdrew her gaze, calmly saying, "Todd is my son, and I will give him the best arrangements. You don't have to worry, Mr. Winston. It's already late, so you should get some rest."

She turned around and went upstairs to the master bedroom, closing the door softly.

Ivan sighed and touched his nose in frustration.

He was always a man of few words, and this was the first time he had spoken so much at once.

And this woman, didn't appreciate it at all.

Why should he bother himself with Todd, who looked at him with hostility?
Ivan had better things to do with his time.

He went to the guest room on the first floor.

Just taking one step inside, he noticed a pair of men's slippers placed at the bedside. And hanging on the clothes rack was a set of men's suits.

He had been wondering why there was no trace of a man living in this room, but it turns out it was here waiting for him.

So, this guest room of hers was specifically intended for men to stay in? Then, how many people had stayed in this room before him?

A surge of resentment rose from Ivan's heart.

He turned around and walked out of the guest room, taking a walk around the first floor, only to find that this room was the only one available for accommodation.

He sat on the sofa in a cold manner, intending to make do for one night.

But how could he ever get used to this slightly hard and narrow sofa when he was used to sleeping in a soft and spacious bed?

He tossed and turned for two to three hours before finally feeling a bit sleepy. Just before falling asleep, he thought about how he would definitely give Owen a good lesson when he returned to the Winston family tomorrow. Next time Owen tricked him into staying here, he would hang that kid up and give him a beating...

In the midst of drowsiness, a sudden scream came. Ivan, with his sharp senses, sat upright as soon as he heard the scream.

He frowned and looked in the direction where the sound came from. It was Haley's room.

Before his consciousness could catch up, Ivan had already appeared at the door of Haley's room. He was about to push the door open when a small figure emerged from the corner of the second-floor corridor.

Todd, in a cold tone, said, "You're not allowed in." Ivan's hand froze in mid-air. "Your mom is crying in the room, didn't you hear?"

Todd's face was blurred in the dim light. He lowered his voice, "Mom had a nightmare, so she cried. She'll be alright once the nightmare is over."

His mom had asked him before why his sister had frequent nightmares. What he didn't tell her was that his sister had inherited her habit of having nightmares.
When his sister was frightened during the day, she would think about it at night and dream about it.

And mom, shrouded in deep despair and sorrow, couldn't escape her nightmares all night once they started. He had tried waking mom up before, only to receive even more desperate crying. He dared not try again...
