Chapter 643

"Haley, it's okay! It's okay. The kids are fine."

Martin had to use all his strength to calm Haley down. Once she was lying quietly in bed, Martin took Jeffrey out of the room.

"Why did she suddenly lose control?" Martin lit a cigarette, frowning as he asked.

"I used a bit of hypnosis to bring her into a scenario I created, but it backfired," Jeffrey said, a bit frustrated. "I didn't expect her to get so emotional when I mentioned the kids. I'll try a different approach next time."

Martin frowned. "You know hypnosis?"

He seemed to recall Katherine mentioning that there were very few psychologists worldwide who knew hypnosis.

Jeffrey coughed and said, "I'm the president of the Watertown Psychological Association, So I know a bit of hypnosis."

Usually, patients had to make an appointment and wait at least a month to see Jeffrey, but this time the patient was Mrs. Winston, so he came directly, also hoping to establish a good connection.

Martin nodded slightly. "I'll contact you once she's calmed down."

Jeffrey politely  took his leave.

Martin stood outside, finishing his cigarette before turning back to the room. As he grasped the doorknob, he gave a self-deprecating smile.

Just a month ago, he had never thought he'd be so anxious about Haley's condition. Well, he owed it to Ivan.

Martin opened the door and saw Haley still sitting on the bed in the same position, staring blankly out the window.

When Martin entered, Haley slowly turned her head and gave a bitter smile. "Did I guess right? My illness can't be cured."

"You're right; those doctors aren't skilled enough," Martin comforted her. "I'll find you another psychologist."

"That doctor was actually quite good," Haley said. "He must have used hypnosis on me, which is why I suddenly fell into last night's nightmare. I've checked; there are fewer than ten psychologists in Watertown who know hypnosis. Even if we find another doctor, they might not be better than Doctor Harris. Forget it, Ivan; let's just leave it."

Martin insisted. "I'll keep looking."

He casually searched online and saw a familiar name in the news.

[Renowned overseas psychologist Katherine successfully cured a wealthy man's long-term psychological issues. Patients seeking her treatment have appointments booked six months in advance.]

Martin stared at the screen without speaking.

He had known Katherine for years and knew she was a genius in psychology. At just when she was eighteen, she had received the highest local honors and had even treated the queen.

"Katherine is very talented," Haley's gaze had somehow also fallen on Martin's phone screen. "I heard your mom say that Katherine is a very good psychologist. Perhaps we can have her treat me."

Martin looked into Haley's eyes. "There was some misunderstanding between you two. Would that be alright?"

Although he believed Katherine could help Haley, just a few days ago, there had been a significant conflict between her and Katherine. With such tension between patient and doctor, psychological treatment would be difficult.

"You already said it's just a misunderstanding," Haley said calmly. "Since the misunderstanding is cleared up, it's nothing. I know my illness is severe, and one day my body might not hold up. I want to completely cure my psychological issues before the kids come back. Can you help get Katherine to treat me?"

Martin stared at her. "Are you sure?"
