Chapter 109 It's Probably Related to That Jerk Matthew

"Mr. Williams, what do you think of this outfit?" Mary watched Robert take photos and instinctively took a step back before asking.

Robert smiled, his handsome and charming face lighting up. "It looks great."

"Then I'll take this one," Mary said, taking out her card to pay.

Robert didn't object, his eyes seemingly both bright and dark as they rested on her.

Just as she finished the transaction, Mary's phone rang. She checked and saw it was a call from her department manager, Alvin Weaver.

"Hello? Mr. Weaver," Mary answered.

Alvin's voice sounded weird. "Mary, are you busy right now? There's a set of data that seems off. Could you come back and check it? It is quite important."

Frowning, Mary asked, "Is it the data I handled?"

Alvin confirmed, "Yes, it is."

Mary was puzzled. She had checked the data files before leaving work yesterday to ensure there were no errors. How could there be a mistake?

"Alright, I'll come back and take a look," Mary agreed.

Alvin reassured her, "Don't worry. Your efforts won't be in vain. It will count as overtime, so you'll be compensated."

"Okay, thank you," Mary replied before hanging up. She then turned to Robert and Shirley and said, "I have to go back to work overtime."

Shirley commented, "What kind of company is this, working on Saturdays? Mary, you should consider resigning."

Robert added, "I don't think it's good either. Why don't you come to work for me? You can name your conditions, whatever you want."

Shirley perked up, giving Mary meaningful looks.

Pretending not to notice, Mary smiled and said, "Thank you for your kind offer, but I still have work to finish. I need to complete it before considering anything else."

Robert replied, "It's alright. I have plenty of time. Take your time to think about it, and you can call me anytime when you're ready."

Mary couldn't continue this conversation. Otherwise, she might not be able to handle it.

"Then I'll leave now," Mary said.

Shirley offered, "I'm driving. Let me drop you off. Mr. Williams, where are you heading next? Do you need a ride too?"

Robert declined, "No, thank you. I'm heading to a friend nearby. Drive safe, both of you."

They said goodbye to each other.

Mary and Shirley got into the car.

Shirley asked, "What's going on?"

Mary replied, "Just going back to work overtime."

Shirley furrowed her brows slightly. "But why do I feel like this isn't that simple?"

Mary turned to her. "What's in your mind?"

Shirley said, "I think this is probably related to that bastard Matthew."

Mary remained silent and fastened her seatbelt.

At the DK Group.

Alvin was sweating nervously, looking at Michael. "Mr. White, is this okay?"

Michael smiled faintly. "Mr. Weaver, don't be so nervous. Everything is fine. You can go on a vacation."

"Ah, okay," Alvin replied.

He quickly left, feeling puzzled. Michael had called him over with a serious tone, making him think there was a problem with the project. And now, that's it?

Alvin left the company with doubts in his mind.

Just as he left, Mary arrived.

Exiting the car, she told Shirley, "Don't wait for me. I'm not sure how late I'll be."

Shirley said, "Just give me a call if you need anything."

"Okay," Mary said.

Closing the car door and watching Shirley leave, Mary then turned and entered the company.

It was Saturday, and the vast office was empty.

She stepped out of the elevator and immediately spotted Michael standing not far away. Upon seeing her, he put on a professional smile.
