Chapter 431 Do You Think I Would Abuse Her

Matthew draped his suit jacket over her shoulders, and his intense and crisp scent completely surrounded her.

"Mary, this is the first and last time. If I catch you in a situation like this again, neither of us will have a good time," Matthew said, standing up and looking down at Mary with cold, emotionless eyes.

Mary, wrapped in his presence, stayed silent.

Matthew turned and walked away.

He didn't care about her response.

She had to follow his orders, or he wouldn't let her off easy!

As for Sean, he would be kicked out of Lindwood City!

Mary quietly followed Matthew out of the private room. It wasn't until they got into the elevator that she remembered Shirley. She quickly reached to press the open door button.

Matthew glanced at her coldly. "What are you doing?"

Mary explained, "I need to find Shirley."

Matthew replied, "Herman will take her home."

Mary didn't trust Herman and stubbornly insisted on going out to find her.

Just then, her phone rang. She picked it up and saw it was a call from Shirley.

"Hello, Shirley?" Mary answered.

"Mary, you go home first. Something came up on my end, and I can't leave with you," Shirley's voice sounded off, like she was trying hard to endure something.

Mary immediately became worried. "Shirley, what's wrong? I'll come find you."

"No need. I can handle it myself," Shirley quickly refused, "You go home first. I'll contact you once I've sorted things out. That's it."

With that, Shirley hung up the phone.

Mary looked at her phone suspiciously.

What was going on?

But from Shirley's tone, it seemed she didn't want Mary to come find her.

Matthew asked coolly, "Can we close the door now?"

Mary silently withdrew her hand, and the elevator doors slowly closed.

The elevator's reflective surface showed Mary's image. Her petite figure was draped in Matthew's suit jacket, the oversized clothing making her look even more delicate.

She lowered her eyes, her face now pale, her long eyelashes curled, and her lips slightly pursed.

Her lips were swollen from his kiss, looking both pitiful and alluring.

'This was the look she had when facing other men,' Thinking of this, Matthew's expression grew even colder.

The temperature in the elevator dropped. Mary glanced at Matthew, seeing his gloomy face, and didn't say a word.

There was nothing to say.

She was in a bad mood too.

Being misunderstood by him out of nowhere made her particularly frustrated.

Especially with Matthew's petty and sinister nature, Sean might have been in trouble.

She had implicated an innocent person again.

Exiting the elevator, Mary walked outside and saw Sean standing not far away.

He seemed to be waiting for her, his handsome face full of worry. When Sean saw her, his eyes lit up. "Ms. Smith."

Sean walked over to her.

Mary keenly sensed that Matthew's aura colder.

Mary spoke to Sean, "I'm fine. I need to go home now."

Sean asked worriedly, "Are you really fine?"

Matthew sneered, "Do you think I would abuse her?"

Sean glanced at Matthew, his eyes showing a hint of caution, "The way you looked just now did seem like you might hurt her."

Matthew scoffed, "You want to meddle in our marital affairs? I think being a waiter is beneath you. Should I hire you as my butler?"
