Chapter 263 Going Out to Eat Together
Matthew stood by the bed, loosened her hair, and said coldly, "You sure sleep soundly."
Mary woke up, already annoyed, and hearing him, her mood worsened. She got up and asked, "Do you need something?"
Wasn't he busy with work?
She couldn't just stand there.
Was Matthew uncomfortable if he didn't bother her for a day?
Seeing her about to lose her temper, Matthew suddenly chuckled. He ruffled her messy hair and said, "Freshen up, we're going out."
Then he left the guest room.
Mary, exasperated, grabbed a pillow and threw it at the door!
Mary thought, 'Why is Matthew getting more and more annoying?'
Half an hour later.
Mary came out of the guest room and asked coldly, "Where to?"
Matthew tossed her a coat and said, "You'll know when we get there."
Mary put it on and walked straight to the door without hesitation.
Matthew stared at her slender back, his eyes darkening a bit.
It was already dusk.
The sky was filled with colorful clouds.
Seeing such a beautiful scene, Mary's bad mood instantly vanished. She took out her phone and snapped a photo of the clouds.
Matthew said indifferently, "What's so special about those clouds?"
Mary replied, "None of your business."
Matthew's lips pressed together. Suddenly, he grabbed her hand and lifted it, "Wouldn't it be better to take a picture like this?"
Mary paused, then retorted, "What's so special about a hand?"
She pulled her hand back and walked on her own.
Matthew rubbed his fingertips but didn't get angry.
"You're going the wrong way."
He turned and walked in the opposite direction.
Mary, with a stern face, walked back and followed him.
Lindenville was small, but very traditional and peaceful. People were getting off work, and there were more people on the road, along with some street vendors.
Mary saw some snacks and, without asking Matthew, went over and bought some to eat.
Matthew looked at her quietly. "Is it good?"
Mary nodded. "Not bad!"
She continued eating.
Matthew suddenly leaned over and snatched the snack from her hand, immediately frowning.
"It tastes just so-so."
Mary was a bit angry. "Who told you to eat it!"
Mary couldn't stop thinking, 'Matthew is really annoying!'
But Matthew seemed to be in a good mood. He led her around, finally stopping in front of a barbecue restaurant.
Mary paused.
This barbecue restaurant was where she used to work part-time when she was in school.
When she got to high school, Barbara stopped supporting her much. To continue her studies, she had to support herself.
Every day after finishing her homework, she would come here to work part-time. The money she earned was just enough for her daily expenses.
Matthew said, "I asked someone, the food here is good. We'll have dinner here."
Mary didn't say anything and walked straight in.
"Please, go ahead and take a seat. Feel free to order whatever you'd like!"
The manager came out, still the middle-aged man named Mark Wright, with a cheerful smile on his face.
"Mr. Wright."
Mary smiled and greeted Mark.
"Huh?"
Mark looked up and then froze for a moment. "You... You look so familiar. Have we met before?"
Mary said, "I'm Mary, I used to work part-time here."
"Yes, yes, Mary, it's you! Did you get into college?" Mark remembered and immediately smiled.
