Chapter 390 Who Do You Think I Should Trust?

Shirley grabbed Mary. "No way I'm saying sorry to that bitch!"

Mary looked at her, feeling a bit down. If the Montagu Group got involved, it wouldn't just be a simple lawsuit.

Shirley had totally pissed off Matthew. How was she gonna hold her ground in Lindwood City after this?

Mary held her hand and said softly, "Shirley, I don't want you to get sued."

Shirley frowned. "But..."

Mary glanced at Matthew, her tone softening a bit. "Matthew, it was Ms. Jackson who started it. You can check the surveillance if you don't believe me. Shirley was just standing up for me. If you sue her, there'll be no one to protect me in the future. You might as well sue me directly."

The coldness on Matthew's face cracked a bit. Seeing her soften, he felt uneasy inside.

He stared at her deeply, about to say something, when Chloe behind him spoke up, "Mr. Montagu, I really don't know how I offended them. I came here to shop for clothes, but this lady snatched my clothes and even cursed at me and tried to hit me. Look at my arm."

As she spoke, she raised her arm, showing several scratch marks clearly made by a girl's nails.

Shirley widened her eyes slightly. "You're lying! I didn't hit you!"

Chloe immediately shrank back behind Matthew, looking pitiful.

"Keep pretending. If you have the guts, come out and confront me. I didn't scratch you! You shameless woman, twisting the truth!" Shirley looked like she was ready to fight, glaring fiercely at Chloe.

In comparison, Shirley looked like the vicious one, while Chloe seemed like the bullied victim.

Mary also said, "Ms. Jackson, you can't just make stuff up. There are so many people in this store. Everyone saw what really happened. Do you not feel guilty accusing my friend of hitting you?"

Chloe suddenly started crying. "Mr. Montagu, I'm sorry, it's my fault. I shouldn't have said anything. These are just minor injuries, not worth mentioning. Let's just drop it this time."

She looked scared, as if she was too intimidated to pursue the matter further.

"Two-faced," Shirley cursed unceremoniously.

Mary frowned and looked at Matthew.

His face darkened, and he suddenly walked over to the couch, sitting down with his long legs crossed, exuding a sharp aura. "Now she's not just cursing but also intentionally hurting people. If she doesn't apologize properly, this won't be over."

"Matthew." Mary looked at him in disbelief. "You don't believe me?"

Matthew sneered, "You two bullied her alone, and she's injured. Who do you think I should believe?"

Mary's breath caught!

She clenched her clothes tightly, trying hard to control her emotions.

She hadn't expected that when something happened, he wouldn't stand by her side at all!

She could endure it, but Shirley couldn't.

Shirley's temper exploded, and she pointed at Matthew's nose, cursing, "You're such an ungrateful jerk! Mary saved you out of kindness, and this is how you repay her? If you don't cherish her, why are you still holding onto her? Just get a divorce. Mary was so unlucky to have met you!"
