Chapter 419 Kidnapping Mary

Felix and the gang were all eyes on Matthew. "Mr. Montagu, we won't do it again. Please give us another chance."

The moment they saw Matthew, they turned into scared little mice, all respectful and stuff.

Laura, with her sweet smile, kept her eyes glued to Matthew.

Matthew's face was all serious, giving off this cold, noble vibe. He looked at them and asked, "Who are you guys?"

Felix and the others exchanged nervous glances.

Michael stepped up and said, "Sir, these are the folks who messed with Mrs. Montagu last night."

He spoke so quietly that only Laura, standing next to him, could hear.

A flicker of coldness flashed in her eyes.

She thought, 'Wait, Matthew and Mary aren't divorced yet? How annoying.'

Matthew stood tall, his icy gaze sweeping over the group. "When you were causing trouble, did you think about your own families?"

Felix and the others froze.

They all looked at Laura.

Laura's smile faltered for a second. She had tried to blackmail him with Samuel's stuff, but he didn't budge? Wasn't Samuel's stuff supposed to be super important to him?

"Matthew, it's not a big deal. Mary wasn't really hurt. After all, nothing's more important than Samuel's things, right?" Laura said softly.

Mary walked up to the door and overheard.

She was confused about why more and more people were gathering at the door. Was this the reason?

She opened the door, arms crossed, staring at Matthew.

He had misunderstood her this morning, and now, was he going to let these people off just because Laura said a few words?

If that were the case, as his wife, she'd feel utterly humiliated!

Matthew's eyes lit up when he saw her, but the mockery in her eyes made him a bit annoyed.

He had indeed misunderstood her; that was on him.

Matthew looked at Laura. "How many of his things do you have?"

"What?" Laura was stunned, not getting what he meant.

Matthew's tone had a hint of sarcasm. "One item for one favor. How many favors can you ask of me?"

Laura quickly shook her head. "No, that's not what I meant."

Matthew's tone shifted. "Who told you I care so much about him that I'd want to take back everything that belongs to him?"

Laura's face went pale, clutching her bag tightly.

Matthew turned to Michael and instructed, "Remember everyone here. I don't want to see any of them in Lindwood City."

"Yes!" Michael nodded immediately.

Felix and the others freaked out.

One of them, eyes red with desperation, rushed over and grabbed Mary's hair, pulling out a knife and pressing it against her neck!

"Matthew, I didn't do anything to her. Why are you pushing us to the edge? If you don't let me go, I'll kill her today!"

The situation flipped so fast, no one could react.

By the time they did, the guy had already taken Mary to the window. The window was open, and the cold wind was blowing in.

Mary stood there, frozen, not daring to move!

Matthew's face darkened as he stared hard at the guy. "Let her go!"

The hand holding the knife shook a bit, accidentally cutting Mary's neck, making blood seep out.

Laura suddenly said, "Don't move. She's Matthew's wife. If you hurt her, Matthew won't let you off!"
