Chapter 803 Thank You, Brother-in-law
Nora asked, "Isn't that gonna be a hassle for you?"
Mary shook her head. "Nah, it's no big deal."
Matthew jumped in, "You know, the Montagu Group runs the most secure and private hospital in all of Lindwood City. Wanna think about moving there?"
Mary looked at him, trying to read his expression.
She knew he never did anything without a reason.
After mulling it over, it made sense.
If they moved Nora to the Montagu Group's hospital, her parents wouldn't be able to track her down, and she could recover peacefully.
Mary pressed her lips together and nodded. "Alright."
Matthew raised an eyebrow. "Alright?"
The message was clear!
Mary's tone grew more confident. "Yeah, alright!"
"Got it, I'll get it sorted."
Matthew's lips curled into a slight smile as he pulled out his phone to make a call.
Nora glanced nervously at Matthew and whispered to Mary, "Who is he?"
Mary replied coolly, "Just a friend."
Nora was taken aback.
She looked at Mary with suspicion. Did she think she was naive?
The way Matthew looked at Mary was anything but casual!
Their relationship had to be close, maybe even romantic. Could he be Mary's boyfriend?
Thinking this, Nora blurted out, "Is he your boyfriend? Are you two fighting?"
Mary said, "Let's head inside."
Since she didn't deny it, Nora felt more certain of her guess.
Once inside the hospital room, she said, "Even though he seems tough, if it weren't for him, you would've been in a jam, Mary. He's actually pretty decent."
Mary acknowledged with a nod, not wanting to discuss Matthew further.
Nora's curiosity was hard to contain, debating whether to dig for more information.
Who could resist a bit of gossip?
But soon, Matthew walked in, his eyes locked on Mary. "Someone will be here soon to take her over. You wanna come along?"
Nora immediately said, "Mary, come with me. I'm kinda scared."
"Okay." Mary nodded.
The transfer was quick; within five minutes, the paperwork was done, and they headed to the Montagu Group's hospital.
The conditions and environment there were much better.
Nora's eyes widened slightly, but then she felt a wave of unease.
"Isn't this place super expensive? Mary, maybe we should go back. This is too much."
Mary smiled gently. "Don't worry, you won't be here long."
Nora bit her lip and looked at her seriously. "Mary, thank you. I'll never forget your kindness!"
Mary was amused by her earnestness.
"I just did you a huge favor, and not even a thank you?"
Just then, Matthew's voice drifted in.
A chill swept through the room, and Nora hid behind Mary, her big eyes filled with a mix of fear and curiosity.
"Thanks, brother-in-law."
At that, Matthew raised an eyebrow, the frost melting away, and his smile deepened.
"Good, you're grateful. Rest up here, and if you need anything, just ask Mary."
As he spoke, his gaze lingered on Mary's face.
