Chapter 820 You Are Unreasonable!

"Alright."

The waiter nodded and walked away.

Shirley glanced at Matthew, then at Mary, resting her chin on one hand. "I have a hunch."

Mary looked puzzled. "What?"

Shirley leaned in. "They're doing this on purpose."

Mary blinked, then quickly caught on. They had just arrived, and the others showed up right after. It seemed too coincidental.

"Why would they pick a barbecue joint for a gathering? Aren't there enough fancy restaurants, private clubs, and five-star hotels for them?" Mary wondered silently.

Shirley sighed. "Great, now they're right next to us. We can't say anything."

Mary replied, "Since when do you talk behind people's backs? You usually confront them head-on."

Shirley's eyes widened. "This is different. The Montagu Group is under a microscope right now. If Matthew throws you under the bus, you'll be the target of everyone's anger. Don't doubt it; he would definitely do something like that."

As she finished, the air around them seemed to chill. She glanced at the neighboring table, shrugged, and said, "There are too many unstable people online. What if someone gets emotional and comes after you?"

Mary sighed. "Your worry is unnecessary. The Montagu Group will come up with a perfect solution."

Shirley replied, "Let's hope so."

Mary said calmly, "If things were really that bad, he wouldn't be here."

Shirley looked at her and blinked. "You know him so well."

Mary was speechless.

Matthew then said, "We're married, of course, we understand each other. Stop trying to stir things up. Watch your words, or you'll end up in trouble."

Herman chimed in, "Why are you butting into their conversation?"

Shirley shot Matthew a glance and snorted. "Get this straight, I'm Mary's friend. If you talk to me like that, I'll curse you behind your back."

Matthew looked at Herman. "Do you have anything else to say?"

Herman looked at Shirley. "No need to curse behind his back. Do it to his face."

Matthew was speechless.

Shirley immediately raised her chin, looking defiant.

Matthew's sharp face suddenly went blank. He then looked at Mary, his deep voice tinged with a bit of grievance. "Did you see that? They're bullying me."

Herman's mouth twitched, speechless.

Shirley's eyes widened. "What are you doing? Playing the victim? You have no morals!"

Anthony calmly sipped his water, amused by the drama.

Mary's eyelashes fluttered slightly. "I'm so hungry. Why isn't the food here yet?"

She decided not to get involved, staying away from the conflict.

As soon as she finished speaking, the waiter came over with a cart, carrying the ordered dishes and meat.

The charcoal was set up, and the waiter began grilling the meat.

Mary took a sip of juice, staring at the grill, but her thoughts were elsewhere.

Perhaps, she had guessed one thing correctly.

The video incident hadn't affected Matthew too much. Realizing this, she felt a slight sense of relief.
