Chapter 602 Sean Treats to Dinner

Mary's expression froze for a moment, and she asked, "Shirley, don't you have any other thoughts about this?"

Shirley took a bite of her chicken wing and asked, "I don't have any. If he wants to get engaged, then let him."

Mary frowned, "But, between the two of you..."

Shirley laughed out loud, "Oh, so that's what you're worried about. Never mind. If he really wants to get engaged, I won't get entangled with him. The thing I hate most in my life is being a mistress."

Mary finally breathed a sigh of relief. It was great that Shirley thought this way.

Regardless of what Herman would do, as long as Shirley maintained this attitude, Herman wouldn't be able to continue bothering her.

He had no relationship with Shirley. He was different from Matthew; he had no leverage over Shirley.

Seeing her lost in thought, Shirley said, "Alright, stop overthinking. Those things won't happen."

"Okay." Mary nodded and stopped thinking about it.

The two of them finished their meal and took a walk around the neighborhood. When they got back, Mary's phone rang. She answered it, puzzled.

"Ms. Smith, there's a gentleman at the gate who wants to see you. He says he's your friend." The call was from the security guard.

Mary asked, "What's his name?"

After a moment, the guard's voice came back, "He says his name is Sean."

Mary responded, "Let him in."

The security guard replied, "Okay."

"Who is it?" Shirley asked, puzzled.

Mary said, "Sean is here."

Shirley's eyes lit up, "Why is he here? It's so late. Is he here to ask you out on a date?"

Mary looked at her helplessly, "Can you stop saying nonsense? Maybe he has something to discuss. Let's go and see."

Shirley chuckled, "If he had something to discuss, wouldn't he call? Why come over directly? And without even telling you in advance? He must be trying to surprise you."

Mary was helpless and said, "With your imagination, it's a pity you don't write novels."

When they reached the gate, Sean had just arrived. When Sean saw her, he smiled. "Mary!"

Mary asked, "It's so late. Do you have something to discuss?"

Sean scratched his head awkwardly, "I do have something. I originally wanted to call you, but I was afraid you'd refuse, so I came directly to your place."

"Come on, what is it?" Shirley asked curiously. Mary also looked at him, puzzled.

Sean touched his nose, cleared his throat, and said, "Well, I wanted to thank you for what you did before. I also caused you a lot of trouble later, so I wanted to treat you to dinner. Do you have time?"

Shirley said, "She has plenty of time. Just say when. Do you mind if I come along? Don't worry, I don't eat much."

Mary was silent.

Sean blushed and said, "No problem. Mary, are you tomorrow okay?"

Shirley nodded enthusiastically, "Yes, of course."

"Shirley!" Mary called her helplessly.

Shirley replied, "You two are coworkers, so that doesn't matter! Isn't it normal for colleagues to treat each other to dinner?"
