Chapter 363 I Don't Care Anymore

Just then, the door swung open.

Mary stood there with a face mask on, her eyes cold and emotionless. "What are you doing?"

The person picking the lock froze and instinctively looked at Matthew.

Matthew stared at her, his voice hoarse. "Mary, I didn't know you'd be in trouble, I..."

"Do you have anything else to say?" Mary cut him off coldly.

Matthew's lips pressed into a thin line, the feeling in his chest growing stronger.

He said, "Let me in, we need to talk."

Mary replied, "I'm tired, I want to sleep."

But Matthew held onto the door, not letting her close it.

Mary looked at him and suddenly asked, "Matthew, if I hadn't been saved today, if I had been taken, would you regret it?"

Matthew said, "That wouldn't happen, I would find you!"

Mary asked again, "Would you regret it?"

She was fixated on this answer.

But she knew this question was meaningless.

When she found out he had left her in danger to go find Laura, she had already lost hope.

She was completely disappointed in him.

Matthew, trying to be patient, said, "Mary, I told you that wouldn't happen; I wouldn't let you be taken."

Mary said, "I guess you wouldn't regret it. You've still got Laura, Jenny, or whoever. So, can you stop coming to me? I'm really tired and want to rest."

She reached out to pry his fingers off.

But Matthew forcefully walked in!

The door closed behind him, and he stared at her with dark, narrow eyes. "Why won't you listen to my explanation? I went to find Laura because she knows..."

"I don't care." Mary took a couple of steps back, keeping her distance from him.

Matthew's throat felt like it was being squeezed, making it hard to breathe.

Her attitude was the same as always, cold and distant.

But he sensed something different—her eyes, once filled with emotional waves, were now completely cold and empty.

Matthew was really upset.

He grabbed her wrist, pulling her close, and asked in a deep voice, "Say it again!"

Mary said, "I could say it ten times, it would be the same. I don't care who you're with, who you went to find, I don't..."

But before she could finish, Matthew grabbed the back of her head and kissed her!

He found the face mask on her face annoying and ripped it off, tossing it aside, pressing her against the shoe cabinet by the door, kissing her fiercely!

Mary struggled violently!

She kept hitting him, even landing several slaps on his face!

Matthew grabbed her wrists, pinning them behind her back, making her even closer to him.

She couldn't struggle, forced to endure his kiss.

Matthew tasted saltiness, his kiss paused, and he looked up to see Mary crying.

Her eyes were full of sorrow, big tears falling like they were hitting his heart.

Matthew held her tightly. "Mary, it's my fault, don't cry."

His voice was hoarse, he lowered his head, admitting his mistake, but Mary didn't want it, didn't want to hear it!

"If you really feel you owe me, then divorce me." Her voice was muffled, tinged with sobs.
