Chapter 444 I Really Don't Like You Anymore
Mary suddenly realized Herman and Shirley had gone to the bedroom.
She was about to head over, but Matthew stopped her.
With a serious look, Mary said, "Move aside!"
Matthew gently held her hand and said, "If you go in now, won't it be awkward for them?"
Mary hesitated.
Matthew continued, "Some things are mutual. If they don't want it, no one can force it."
Mary fell silent.
She frowned, glanced at the bedroom, and decided not to go in.
Thinking about Shirley's behavior and her indifferent attitude, Mary guessed Shirley was just playing around with Herman.
Once she's had enough, she won't cling to him anymore.
Mary turned and left, and they all went out, closing the door behind them.
The hallway was narrow, so they had to go down one by one.
Matthew led the way, Mary was in the middle, and Robert followed behind.
Robert said to Mary, "I found some cool stuff abroad. I'll show you when you have time."
Mary looked back at Robert and replied, "Sure."
Robert smiled, "Not only are the things interesting, but the scenery is also amazing. There's an island with an aurora that's really rare and breathtaking. We should go see it sometime."
Mary's eyes lit up. "I've heard the black sand beach there is also quite something."
Robert nodded. "Yeah, it is."
Mary said, "I really want to see it."
The next second, she bumped right into Matthew's back, her nose stinging, and tears instantly welled up!
"Why did you stop suddenly?" She covered her nose, looking at Matthew with tearful eyes because of pain.
Matthew didn't turn around and said, "I thought it was unsafe to chat while going downstairs, so I stopped. It's not too late to continue after you're done talking."
His words were considerate, but his cold demeanor made it less so.
Mary blinked, looking at his back, and said nothing more.
Robert chuckled, "Mr. Montagu, don't you still need to pick a gift for Mrs. Victoria Montagu?"
Matthew replied, "No rush, you guys finish talking first."
Mary paused and sighed, "Let's go, the mall will close if we don't go now."
Matthew turned back, gave her a deep look, and then continued down.
This time, Mary didn't speak again.
She said goodbye to Robert, got in the car, and turned to see Matthew's very gloomy face.
The car hadn't started, and he was looking at her intently.
Mary asked, "Aren't we leaving?"
Matthew spoke, "Keep talking. If you can talk so much with Robert, you can with me too."
Mary fell silent.
She stared at him for a while and asked, "Are you jealous?"
Matthew instinctively wanted to deny it, "I..."
But the words got stuck in his throat, and he then continued with a sullen face, "Yes, I can't stand how close you two are, Mary, you're my wife!"
Mary, however, responded lightly, "But, if you're jealous, what does that have to do with me?"
Matthew narrowed his eyes. "Nothing to do with you? Mary, say that again!"
He admitted his feelings for her, but she said it had nothing to do with her!
She was his wife! How could she have said that!
Mary curled her lips and said, "Matthew, do you know? When Robert talked about introducing a lawyer to me, I was really tempted."
Her clear eyes looked at him. "I really don't like you anymore."
