Chapter 132 I Can Get In Anytime
Matthew sat in the chair, looking all dignified and aloof. "Let's eat first," he said.
Mary walked over, snatched the utensils from his hands, and slammed them on the table.
"Matthew, answer my question."
Matthew's expression stayed indifferent as he looked up at her. Seeing her angry, he inexplicably felt pleased.
"Do you think a password lock would keep me out? As long as I want, I can get in anytime." He stared at her, his voice low and magnetic.
But Mary felt he was talking about something else. Thinking of last night's intimacy, she got even more furious!
"Stop eating my food! Mine!" She moved the utensils away from him, then sat at the farthest spot from him and started eating on her own.
Matthew watched her and suddenly chuckled, "Mary, are you being childish?"
Mary didn't say anything. What could she do? She had no way to deal with Matthew now!
Matthew wasn't angry but was watching her with amusement. After she finished eating, he said, "I found out some things about the person who was targeting you before."
Mary paused and looked at him, "Who is that?"
But Matthew didn't continue, just gazed at her quietly.
Mary pursed her lips and pushed the utensils back towards him.
Matthew took a sip of milk before speaking, "That person is called Roy Brooks. He came to you the same day he was released from prison."
Mary furrowed her brows, "It doesn't ring a bell."
Matthew said, "I know. After he approached you that one time, he disappeared. He's good at hiding. Without solid evidence, he's untouchable from the police."
Mary fell silent for a moment and asked, "Is it related to the Montagu family?"
She had always thought that Roy approached her because she was Matthew's wife, feeling purely entangled by Matthew.
Matthew replied, "It remains unknown."
Mary's expression became more serious, "It's very likely related to the Montagu family. Maybe I'm being targeted because of you. Matthew, How many enemies do you have?"
Matthew looked at her, "Are you scared?"
Mary, as if hearing a joke, "It's my life on the line. What do you think?"
Matthew's smile faded, "Being afraid won't help. Since he's already targeting you, he will finish what he started. Divorcing me is not your best option. Instead, stay by my side for now. I'll have someone protect you discreetly."
Mary said, "Even if we divorce, you can still have someone protect me. After all, I'm being targeted because of you."
Matthew replied, "If we divorce, why should I do that?"
"You!" Mary was furious. She watched him eat and once again moved the utensils away from in front of him.
Seeing her angry expression, Matthew said nothing, got up, and left directly.
Mary couldn't eat anymore, feeling a knife at her throat!
Roy Brooks.
Mary was carefully digging into her memory, but it didn't ring a bell at all.
He had just been released from prison, so what was he imprisoned for?
Mary looked up to ask Matthew, but he had already left.
After a moment of silence, Mary got up to tidy things up. As she walked to the door, she stared at the password lock, then took out her phone and made a call.
