Chapter 231 Pretend Nothing Happened
Matthew looked at Mary, feeling a tightness in his chest.
He stared at her; her indifference was clear.
He walked over, and her frown made him even more annoyed.
"You think you can just act like nothing happened?"
Mary sneered. "So what?"
Matthew was furious!
Last night they were so close, and now she was acting like this?
He thought, 'She's something else!'
"If it doesn't matter, then once or twice doesn't make a difference, right?"
Matthew grabbed his collar, popping two buttons, and moved towards her, pinning her on the sofa. Her towel fell off.
Mary's breath hitched, and she tried to slap him, but he caught her wrist and pinned it above her head.
Her eyes, once indifferent, now showed anger. "Let go of me, I don't want to do this!"
Matthew smirked. "Does it matter what you want?"
"You...!"
Mary tried to curse, but Matthew kissed her, silencing her.
She was completely naked while he was fully dressed, creating a stark contrast. It made it easy for him to do whatever he wanted.
Mary's back ached, and she had no strength to fight. She bit his lip, tasting blood.
Matthew paused.
Mary's breathing was heavy, and the marks on her neck and collarbone rose and fell with her breaths.
"Matthew, don't you want a divorce? Aren't you marrying Laura? If you don't divorce me, what about Laura? Is she going to try suicide again?"
Mary's mockery stung Matthew.
He kissed her again, biting her hard.
"Ugh!"
Mary groaned in pain.
Matthew let her go, stood up, and looked down at her. "Mary, you're really ungrateful."
He turned and left.
Mary wrapped the towel around herself. Her eyes were cold.
Matthew thought about Laura but wanted Mary. When Mary disagreed, he said she was ungrateful.
He was ridiculous.
Mary stood up, saw the mess on the bed, and remembered last night but remained calm.
'It isn't the first time; why get emotional?' Mary thought.
Matthew was awful, but his skills were decent. She had enjoyed herself last night.
Half an hour later, Michael came in, left clothes for Mary, and left.
Mary got dressed and headed outside.
As she exited the elevator, she saw people flattering Matthew. He wore a black suit, looking noble and distinguished, surrounded by people, his presence strong.
Matthew was eye-catching.
Mary glanced at him, then looked away and walked towards the door.
But someone stopped her.
