Chapter 698 Parting Ways

Shirley paused and realized it made sense, so she nodded. "Alright, let's go together."

At the police station, Mary and Shirley both testified for the man with amnesia. Bobby and the man were both injured, but since Bobby was the one causing trouble, he would be held accountable. The man with amnesia just had to give a statement and was then free to go.

As they left the police station, Mary said, "Let's get that cut on your forehead checked out at the hospital."

The man's forehead had a cut, and blood was trickling down.

He looked at Mary and suddenly gave a big smile, his eyes clear and bright. "I'm just glad you're okay."

Mary paused.

Shirley leaned in close to her and whispered, "This feels so familiar."

Mary stayed silent.

She looked at him. "Do you remember your name now?"

The man nodded. "I remember a little. I think my name is Sammy."

Mary nodded. "Sammy, let's go to the hospital first."

Sammy nodded. "Sure."

He followed Mary to the street, his eyes never leaving her, shining like stars in the night.

Shirley watched this scene, seemingly reminded of something, and couldn't help but laugh.

Mary looked at her. "What's wrong?"

Shirley shook her head. "Nothing, just thought of something amusing, but it's not the right time to say it."

Mary stared at her for a moment, as if she knew what Shirley was thinking, and stayed silent for a while.

"Don't overthink it." She said, then got into the car.

"Got it."

Shirley nodded quickly, but her thoughts were different.

How could she not think about it?

Both had amnesia and similar faces, but the difference was that Sammy had saved Mary, leaving a good first impression.

Matthew, that jerk, couldn't compare.

Shirley wondered what it would be like when these two met in the future.

At the hospital.

A nurse treated Sammy's wound, and after the doctor checked and prescribed some medication, they were free to go.

By the time they left, it was already late at night.

Mary handed him a plastic bag. "Follow the instructions for the medication, and you'll heal quickly."

Sammy took it and nodded. "Okay."

After a pause, he asked, "What's your name?"

Mary smiled slightly. "Sammy, we just met by chance. You helped me, and I repaid you. Let's leave it at that. Goodbye."

She turned and walked away without any hesitation.

Sammy was stunned and instinctively took a few steps after her. "But why won't you tell me your name? I just want to get to know you."

Shirley stopped him. "Sammy, she made it clear. She doesn't want to know you or be friends. So, goodbye!"

Waving at Sammy, Shirley quickly caught up with Mary, and they drove away together.

Sammy stood there, dazed, watching them leave. Once the car was out of sight, the confusion on his face vanished.

He looked at the medication in his hand and walked over to a trash can, tossing it in.

Just then, his phone rang. He took it out and answered, "Speak."

The voice on the other end of the line said, "I've blocked all information about you, but this won't last forever. You need to leave soon."

Sammy turned and walked away, a playful look in his eyes. "Why should I leave?"
