Chapter 834 Suspicions About Maria

The video incident was causing quite a buzz online, and with the Montagu Group being so high-profile, plenty of people were looking to capitalize on the situation.

Joey was keeping a close eye on the Montagu Group's moves, and so were others.

Anyone paying attention could see that the key to this whole mess was Nora.

If she came forward to clear things up, the Montagu Group could dodge the crisis once again.

So, if they could control Nora, the Montagu Group would be stuck in a public relations nightmare, making it tough to get out.

It wasn't surprising that a third party got involved.

Mary took a deep breath and asked, "What do we do now?"

She was completely lost and had no idea what to do.

Matthew said, "Don't worry, I'll send someone to find her. The person who took Nora just wants to see the Montagu Group embarrassed. Nora won't be in any immediate danger."

Mary nodded, still trusting in Matthew's abilities.

Matthew said seriously, "Be careful these days. Don't go out unless you have to. Stick to a routine, and South and North will protect you. If you notice anything unusual, call them right away, and they'll be there."

"Okay, I understand." Mary nodded in agreement.

It seemed that Matthew shared her thoughts; this incident wasn't just targeting him.

After hanging up the phone, Mary felt heavy and conflicted, mainly because she didn't know who was behind it or what their motives were.

The enemy was in the shadows, and they were out in the open, making everything feel very passive.

She drove straight home and told Maria that she wouldn't be going to the office for a while.

Maria agreed without any reaction, which made Mary a bit suspicious.

Even if Maria knew she was going to resign, her reaction seemed off.

Normally, if she suddenly wanted to take a break without a definite return date, wouldn't the boss ask for a reason?

But Maria didn't ask.

Mary sat on the couch, holding her phone, feeling a bit lost.

---

Matthew was sitting in the car when Michael turned around and said, "Mr. Montagu, Mrs. Williams has agreed to meet with you."

Matthew responded, "You go meet her."

Michael hesitated, "But Mrs. Williams wants to see you."

Matthew said quietly, "Now that Nora isn't in Linda's hands, why should I meet her?"

Michael asked hesitantly, "What about Mrs. Williams' younger son...?"

Matthew replied, "Stick to the original plan for negotiations. Maybe Linda knows who moved Nora."

"Understood." Michael agreed.

That afternoon, in a quiet tea house.

Michael walked in and saw Theodosia looking over. When she saw it was him, she frowned, "Where's Matthew? Didn't he say he would come personally?"

Michael put on a professional smile and said, "Apologies, Mrs. Williams. I'm sure you've heard about the Montagu Group's recent troubles. Mr. Montagu is extremely busy, so he sent me. Whatever Mr. Montagu knows, I know as well."

Theodosia looked at him suspiciously but still asked, "Do you really know where my son is?"

Michael nodded slightly, "That depends on whether you're sincere, Mrs. Williams."

Theodosia asked coldly, "What do you want?"

Michael said, "Linda hasn't visited Mr. Montagu in a long time. Mr. Montagu misses her. I can't reach Linda. Can you help pass the message?"
