Chapter 30: Life is Short, Enjoy It While You Can
"Mary, wanna hang out? I found a great bar," Shirley's excited voice came through.
Mary took a deep breath and said, "Sure, send me the location."
"OK, see you there."
Hearing this, Mary hung up. She glanced at the sunset once more, the pain in her heart still lingering. She cynically tugged at the corner of her lips. Matthew was already in bed with Laura, so why did she care so much? Once she got her divorce settlement, she would definitely find many lovers and live carefree! For now, why not experience this kind of life in advance?
When Mary arrived at the bar named Twilight Lounge,Shirley was already standing at the entrance. She immediately greeted Mary with a big hug, saying,"Mary, it's been a few days, and you've become beautiful again."
Mary chuckled at Shirley's compliment, "You always know how to flatter me."
Shirley linked arms with Mary as they entered the bar. "I heard the DJ here is very crazy. You'll definitely like it!"
Mary replied, "But haven't you forgotten that I'm a married woman?"
Shirley scoffed, "Why remember that? Does that douchebag remember he's a married man? Isn't he still fooling around with other women outside? Mary, life is short, so enjoy it while you can. There are plenty of men better than your douchebag!"
"You're right!" Mary nodded, fully agreeing with her, "Tonight, we won't leave until we're wasted!"
Shirley raised her hand, repeating Mary's words, "Won't leave until we're wasted!"
By this time, people were starting to trickle into the bar, the lights flashing not too intensely yet, but it was clear that business was booming. Shirley had already reserved a table. She led Mary over and called the waiter, "Bring us all the good drinks you have here."
"Sure."The waiter left with a smile.
Mary's gaze swept around, but Shirley grabbed her, "Mary, look over there."
Following her gaze, Mary saw a man in a black leather jacket not far away. The man had goldenhair, a face that was both soft and handsome, eyes that hinted at a hint of sharpness, and an overall aura of roughness. With just a simple glance back, he was captivating.
"Is this man handsome?" Shirley asked.
Mary nodded, "Yes, he is."
Shirley said, "He's the DJ here with a big temper. He usually ignores people who try to buy him drinks, but I think if he sees you, he'll definitely accept yours!"
Mary looked at her, "What do you mean?"
Shirley winked, "Life is short. Enjoy it while you can."
To be honest, Mary wasn't ready yet. Just then, the waiter brought the drinks.
"Let's drink!" Mary picked up a bottle and poured Shirley a drink.
Shirley said, "Mary, ditch Matthew, you'll have plenty of handsome lovers in the future!"
Mary smiled and took a sip of the drink. It wasn't too strong, and the sweet and sour taste was quite enjoyable. Mary couldn't control herself and started drinking one glass after another. Soon, everything in front of her started to blur. She shook her head, and her gaze unconsciously fell on the golden-haired man. But what she saw was Matthew's stern face.
