Chapter 757 How About I Feed You

Matthew mocked, "Did I come at a bad time?"

Mary barely managed to steady herself when she heard a voice dripping with sarcasm. Her headache instantly worsened.

David frowned and turned to him, "You got it wrong. Mary isn't feeling well. I was just helping her."

Matthew walked over, noticing Mary's flushed face and lack of energy. She indeed looked unwell.

He frowned, then bent down and scooped her up in his arms.

David let go of her at the right moment and said, "She probably has a fever. You should take her to the hospital for a check-up."

Matthew's narrow eyes glinted with coldness as he shot David a frosty look before striding away.

South and North had already quietly left.

Matthew placed Mary in the car, glanced at her clothes, found them bothersome, and promptly tore them off, tossing them aside.

Mary, feverish and dizzy, squinted at Matthew and croaked, "Don't be unreasonable. He was just worried I'd catch a cold."

Matthew replied coldly, "Should I pick up his clothes, set up a shrine, and pray to him every day, thanking him for his great kindness?"

Mary was speechless. He was so noisy.

She simply closed her eyes, ignoring him.

Matthew noticed the disdain in Mary's eyes, his expression tense, and ordered the driver to head to the hospital.

"Step on it!"

The driver shivered inexplicably and silently pressed the gas pedal.

By the time they reached the hospital, Mary's temperature was very high. Matthew took her straight to the emergency room.

Examination, medication, IV drip.

Several hours passed by the time the process was complete.

As the medication took effect, Mary's furrowed brow gradually relaxed, and she began to sweat.

Matthew had someone buy towels and a basin, and he started to wipe her down.

The process wasn't smooth; she whimpered and resisted being touched.

Matthew had to coax her, "You need to be clean to recover. Don't move, or you'll need another injection."

Upon hearing "injection," Mary stopped struggling.

After wiping her down, Matthew looked quite disheveled.

He glanced down, closed his eyes briefly, then headed to the restroom.

When Mary groggily woke up, it was already afternoon.

She felt refreshed, without the sticky sensation of sweat.

The IV needle had been removed, and the room was quiet.

"You're awake?"

A deep male voice sounded.

Mary turned her head to see Matthew walking in, carrying a bag with food containers.

She vaguely remembered him wiping her down.

Her cheeks inexplicably flushed, and she changed the subject, "Where were you last night?"

Matthew glanced at her and said, "There was an emergency last night. I wasn't by your side. Were you scared?"

Mary was speechless.

She frowned, "I'm asking you a serious question."

Matthew replied, "I am answering seriously. With such a big fire, few people wouldn't be scared."

Mary looked at him speechlessly and said, "It's not the first time I've seen such a big fire. I'm immune."

Matthew raised an eyebrow, "Well, You're impressive."

Mary was speechless.

He set up the small table and placed the food containers in front of her, saying, "Do you have the strength to eat? Or should I feed you?"
