Chapter 539 Are They Really Together?
Shirley was a bit surprised. Mary, who usually had such light sleep, wasn't woken up by the loud knocking.
Could it be the effect of alcohol?
Shirley stopped thinking about it, yawned, and walked out. She peeked through the peephole and squinted her eyes when she saw Herman outside.
Why is it him?
While she was pondering, Herman started knocking again.
Shirley opened the door immediately and saw Herman still with his hand raised, ready to knock again.
If she had opened the door just a moment later, his hand might have landed on her.
"What are you knocking for in the middle of the night? Are you out of your mind?"
Shirley said irritably.
Herman lowered his hand and glanced at her, "Is it just you here?"
Shirley yawned, "If not me, then who?"
She squinted her eyes as if she had thought of something and said, "There's also Robert."
Herman, who had just relaxed, immediately furrowed upon hearing her words, "You said Robert slept here?"
Shirley, "What's it to you?"
Herman pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling that things were getting complicated.
If Robert had sex with Mary, then Matthew might go on a rampage.
The situation would get out of control then.
Shirley thought he was crazy and reached out to close the door, "It's late, Mr. Adams. Don't disturb people's rest, okay?"
She said expressionlessly and was about to close the door.
But Herman propped his hand against the door, looking at her with a particularly serious expression, "Which room are they in?"
Shirley frowned, "What?"
Herman's face turned even more serious, "I'm not joking with you. Tell me, which room are they in? Or should I go in and find them myself?"
With that, he made a move to walk in.
Shirley immediately blocked his way, "Did I let you in? What do you mean by what you said?"
Herman looked at the petite Shirley in front of him, squinted his eyes, and suddenly grabbed her under his arm, then strode into the house, starting to check each room.
Shirley was shocked, "What the hell! Herman, what are you doing? Do you know you're trespassing? Let me go!"
Being held like this was uncomfortable for her!
And at this moment, the disparity in strength between men and women became apparent. She was like a little lamb, unable to resist at all!
Herman opened two guest room doors, both empty.
His gaze fell on the master bedroom, his face turning even colder. Could they be in the master bedroom?
Shirley could tell he was looking for someone by his expression.
Recalling his earlier questions and attitude, Shirley hurriedly said, "Herman, calm down. It's just me and Mary here, no one else!"
Herman paused his hand that was about to push open the master bedroom door and looked down at Shirley, "Are you serious?"
Shirley nodded repeatedly, "Yes, that's right. Robert did come earlier, but he left after dinner!"
Herman let out a barely noticeable sigh of relief, then tightened his grip a bit, squinting his eyes and asking, "Are you lying to me?"
Shirley, feeling very uncomfortable being held like this, struggled a bit, "You let me go first."
Herman carried her out, "Shirley, it seems my temper is too good, making you think you can do whatever you want in front of me."
He took Shirley and left the floor.
