Chapter 244 Even Thinking of Murder
Mary stared at his handsome face and asked, "What will it take for you to let him go?"
Matthew lounged on the sofa, legs crossed, wishing she'd just leave.
He thought, 'She came to beg for another guy? Seriously? Who is this guy to her?'
Mary felt uneasy under his gaze but stayed put, thinking of David in the hospital.
"Come here," Matthew suddenly said.
Mary hesitated. Getting close to him never ended well.
But he had the upper hand, so she had no choice.
She walked over and asked, "What?"
Matthew pointed to the corner of his lips, giving her a suggestive look.
Mary was speechless.
She knew it.
But she needed his help, so she played along.
She leaned in for a light kiss, but Matthew grabbed her head and deepened it.
He was forceful, and she couldn't pull away.
When she finally did, she frowned at him.
Matthew smirked. "Just a kiss. Why so dramatic?"
Mary sighed. "Can you let him go now?"
Matthew replied, "When did I say a kiss would do that?"
Mary glared. "Then what do you want?"
Matthew changed the subject. "I'm hungry."
"You..."
The doorbell rang.
Matthew said, "Go check."
She felt like his secretary.
Mary cursed inwardly, 'He's so annoying!'
She opened the door, brought in her takeout, and set it on the table.
Matthew walked over, opened the bag, and frowned at the Mexican food.
"You expect me to eat this?"
Mary said, "I ordered it for myself..."
Matthew's face darkened.
Mary said, "How was I supposed to know when you'd be back? If you'd told me, I would've cooked."
The suite had a small kitchen where she could whip up something.
Matthew said, "You can still cook now."
Mary asked, "If I cook, will you let David go?"
Matthew looked coldly at her. "Is this how you ask for a favor?"
Mary frowned. "Then what will it take?"
Matthew said, "When I'm in a good mood."
Mary sneered, "You seem in a good mood now, so why don't you..."
Matthew cut her off coldly. "No, I'm not. I feel like killing someone."
