She hung up the phone.

Mary and Shirley had planned to go for Mexican food, but halfway there, she received a call from Robert.
"Robert." Mary's tone relaxed a bit.
Robert asked, "What are you up to?"
Mary said, "Going to eat with Shirley. Robert, do you want to join us?"
Robert replied, "If it's not your cooking, then forget it."
Mary laughed, "We're going for Mexican food."
"Oh, I see. Well, you two go ahead. My birthday is coming up, and I'd really like you to come to my party. Are you free?" Robert asked.
Mary immediately said, "Of course, I'll be there."
Robert laughed, "Great, I'll be waiting for you."
He hung up the phone.
Shirley asked, "What's up?"
Mary said, "Robert's birthday is coming up, and he invited me to his birthday party. But I still need to get him a gift. Let's pick one out after we eat."
"Okay." Shirley nodded.
After eating, the two of them went straight to the mall.
When they reached the men's clothing section, Shirley dragged her into a clothing store.
