Chapter 473 Don't Remember Mary Anymore

As Victoria finished speaking, the whole living room went dead silent.

Matthew's face got all serious, and he crouched down in front of Victoria, asking, "Grandma, are you remembering stuff now?"

Victoria reached out and patted his head, "Of course I remember. I'm not all mixed up anymore. Weren't you supposed to marry Laura? Why'd you bring her here today?"

Matthew sensed something was off, pointed at Mary, and asked, "Do you remember her?"

Victoria followed his finger, looked at Mary, and shook her head, "I don't know her. Who is she? A new maid?"

Mary felt like she'd just been slapped. When Victoria was confused, she often mistook Laura for the Montagu family's maid and was super nice to her.

Now, it was the other way around!

Matthew stood up and said, "I'm taking you to the hospital."

Victoria frowned, her old face full of confusion, "Why the hospital? I feel fine."

Matthew insisted, "Just to check your health. Trust me on this."

Victoria was still hesitant, but once Matthew made up his mind, no one could change it.

So, Victoria was taken straight to the hospital.

At the hospital, Victoria went in for some tests. In the hallway, the Montagu family members all looked pretty worried.

Matthew turned to Linda, "Aunt Linda, how did you know something was up with Grandma?"

Linda said, "I chat with Victoria every night. Today, she started talking about the past and even mentioned your mom. I knew something was off and asked more questions. That's when I realized she remembered things from before."

She paused and added, "Matthew, you know Grandma's condition. Ever since she got Alzheimer's, she hasn't remembered the past."

Matthew found it strange.

Victoria, who shouldn't have remembered the past, suddenly did.

She even mentioned his and Laura's wedding from two years ago!

Matthew had a wild guess forming in his mind.

Just then, his phone rang. It was Maria calling.

He answered, sounding cold.

Maria was about to speak but couldn't help teasing him, "Mr. Montagu, what's with the cold shoulder? You give me a task in the middle of the night, and when I report back, you act all frosty?"

Matthew kept his tone low, "Get to the point."

Maria pouted on the other end, "The surveillance on that floor is busted, so we can't see if anyone was at the elevator entrance."

Matthew asked, "That's all you found out?"

Maria replied, "It didn't just break today! It's been down for a week, and I just found out too."

Maria was puzzled, wondering if Matthew was in a bad mood today.

He coldly said, "Keep investigating."

Then he hung up.

He turned and saw Mary standing a bit away, looking all lonely.

He walked over to her and said softly, "Grandma will be fine."

Mary looked at him and asked, "Why did Grandma forget me?"

In this world, besides Shirley, only Victoria had shown her warmth and kindness. She deeply remembered that feeling of being loved.
