Chapter 727 Accepting the Order

"Mary, I know you're planning to leave, but you're still here now, and you need to finish your work. The studio isn't just mine."

Mary's eyelashes fluttered slightly before she replied, "Alright, I get it."

Though Mary and Maria had a decent relationship outside of work, in the studio, they were strictly boss and employee.

Mary had abruptly decided to resign, and Maria wasn't angry, likely due to their past friendship. If Mary did nothing and just waited to leave, it would strain their relationship.

Maria reached out and squeezed her shoulder. "Thanks for understanding."

Back in the meeting room, Mary and Kurt began discussing the upcoming contract.

Kurt had some assets, so he didn't mind the costs involved in building the house.

After they finished discussing, Kurt paid the deposit, and Mary planned to visit the site and draft the blueprints.

By the time they wrapped up the contract, it was already the end of the workday.

Mary hadn't seen Sean today and was a bit puzzled.

"Where's Sean?" she asked Maria, who had just come out of her office.

Maria blinked and said, "Sean took the day off. His mom's condition seems to have worsened."

Mary frowned upon hearing this.

Maria looked at her and suddenly said, "I'm going to the hospital to check on Sean's mom. Do you want to come with me?"

"Sure."

Mary liked Isabella and had no reason to refuse.

They bought some things and headed to the hospital.

The hallway was filled with the smell of disinfectant. Mary knocked on the door of the hospital room, and a nurse quickly came over, smiling when she saw Mary.

"Ms. Smith, you're here."

Mary nodded and asked, "Is Mrs. Huxley asleep?"

The nurse shook her head. "No, she's talking with Sean."

Mary and Maria walked in together.

Sean heard them and came out, pausing when he saw them.

"You're here."

Mary nodded. "We came to see Mrs. Huxley."

"Is that Ms. Smith?" Isabella called out when she heard Mary's voice.

"It's me."

Mary walked over, and Isabella, lying in bed, was visibly happy but clearly weaker and thinner than before.

"Mrs. Huxley, have you eaten?" Mary asked with concern.

Isabella nodded. "I have. Sean ate with me."

Maria also walked over. "Mrs. Huxley, you look great today. It won't be long before you can leave the hospital."

"Ms. Diaz, you're here too. I'm so happy you came to see me. You didn't have to bring anything," Isabella said, noticing the items Maria had brought.

Maria smiled. "These are all good things. Eating them will help you recover faster. I heard your neighbor downstairs is waiting for you to come back and join her for some fun."

Isabella laughed. "With my health now, I can't do much."

Maria replied, "That's why you need to eat these. Once you're out of here, you'll be able to enjoy yourself with them."

"Alright!"

They chatted with Isabella, lightening the somber mood in the room.

Sean watched from the side, his expression unchanged, though his eyes held a complex emotion.

Maria stood up to go to the restroom, and Sean followed her out.
