Chapter 650 In Agony

Matthew's face darkened a bit as he looked at the angry Shirley, "Get out."

His thin lips parted slightly, uttering a single word, his entire being exuding a chilling coldness.

Shirley's body trembled, lacking much confidence deep down. She was just an ordinary person; how could she be a match for Matthew?

If he wanted to strangle her, it would be incredibly easy for him.

But she couldn't back down!

She had to protect Mary!

Shirley took a deep breath and said, "Matthew, let's not even talk about the things you did to hurt Mary before. Just the divorce—why did you deceive her? Do you love her or not?"

Matthew's face grew even darker, his eyes filled with a cold chill as he looked at her indifferently, "What does my business with her have to do with you?"

"Of course it has to do with me!" Shirley glared at him, "Because of you, she's unhappy, not as cheerful as she used to be. What have you turned her into? Matthew, do you remember what Mary was like when you first met her? You've lost the cheerful, lively, and smiling Mary!"

"Shirley..." Mary tugged at her clothes, signaling her not to confront Matthew.

Matthew wouldn't listen to these words. He didn't even understand what love was.

Shirley glanced back at her, giving her a slight smile, "I've wanted to say these things for a long time. Now that I've said them, I feel much better."

Mary felt a warmth in her heart. She had no family, but Shirley was more than family. No matter what happened, Shirley always stood by her side.

Matthew looked at Shirley coldly, the atmosphere in the hospital room growing even colder.

Shirley said, "Matthew, let Mary go. I'm really afraid that one day something will happen to her. I don't care if you'll regret it or not; I only care that Mary is okay."

"Are you done?" Matthew's deep voice was devoid of emotion.

Shirley's brows furrowed, "You..."

Matthew looked at her coldly, "If you're done, can you get out now?"

"You!" Shirley looked at him in shock.

So, he hadn't listened to a word she said?

She really wanted to stab him to death!

A look of helplessness and bitterness flashed in Mary's eyes as she said to Shirley, "You go out first. I'll talk to him."

Shirley said, "What's there to talk about with him? Delaying the lawsuit is impossible. File it now!"

Mary nodded, "I'll tell him."

Shirley looked at her with a complicated expression for a while before saying, "Alright then, I'll be right outside the room. If you're in any danger, just call me, and I'll rush in to protect you."

Mary nodded, "Okay, I will."

Shirley left the room, looking back three times, and gave Matthew a fierce glare before closing the door.

Matthew continued to stare at Mary.

Mary said, "I won't delay it. Shirley is right; you've never considered me. Why should I consider you? What happens to you has nothing to do with me."

Hearing her words, Matthew felt his heart shatter into pieces. The pain was unbearable.

That intense pain left him very bewildered.

He had never felt this way before.

No, that was not right. He had.

When he saw Samuel die right in front of him, he felt the same way.

He was in unbearable agony.

Matthew took a step forward and placed his hand on her shoulder.
