Chapter 612 Are You Mute

Mary quickly waved her hand and said, "No need, Mrs. Huxley. I'm here to see you. Let me stay and chat with you."

Sean said, "Perfect timing. I have something to take care of. You two go ahead and chat."

Lisa was taken aback for a moment, then smiled helplessly.

Mary sat down by the bedside and chatted with Lisa, learning a lot about Sean's past.

It seemed Lisa hadn't had a good chat with anyone in a long time, and once she started, she couldn't stop.

When Sean returned, Lisa was just talking about some embarrassing things he did as a child.

"Mom," Sean quickly interrupted, "I was only gone for a little while, and you're already spilling all my stories?"

Lisa laughed heartily, "Don't take it to heart."

Sean remained silent.

Mary looked at him, smiled, and said, "Did you get everything sorted out?"

Sean nodded, "Yes."

Mary stood up and looked at Lisa, "Mrs. Huxley, it's getting late. I'll be going now. You take care and rest well. I'll come visit you another day."

Lisa was a bit reluctant but said, "Alright, Sean, see Mary out and be safe on the way."

Mary nodded, "Okay, goodbye, Mrs. Huxley."

"Goodbye." Lisa waved her hand.

Outside the hospital.

Sean looked at her gratefully, "Mary, thank you so much. I haven't seen my mom this happy in a long time."

Mary said, "It doesn't matter. I just chatted with her casually. You should spend more time with her."

Sean nodded, "I know; thank you very much.."

Mary got into her car, "Alright, go back now. I'm leaving."

Sean nodded and watched her car drive away.

When he returned to the ward, Lisa grabbed his hand and asked, "Sean, be honest with me. Do you like her?"

Sean sat down and said, "Mom, how did you figure that out?"

Lisa had a knowing look on her face and said, "I understand you very well. But Mary is indeed a good girl. I like her too. You should work hard and wait until you've made a name for yourself before pursuing her. Now is not the time. Your job isn't stable yet, and with my health, I don't want to be a burden to her."

Sean said, "That's what I was thinking too."

Lisa smiled, "Sean, if you like a woman, you must treat her sincerely. Never let her be sad or upset, understand?"

Sean nodded seriously, "I understand."

Mary returned to Maple Grove Manor. As soon as she entered the elevator, a tall and slender figure walked out.

She was a bit surprised, "You just got back?"

Matthew looked very cold, with a frosty expression, and didn't answer her.

Mary was puzzled and thought, 'What's going on?'

The elevator ascended slowly, and neither of them spoke, creating a strangely tense atmosphere.

When the elevator doors opened, Matthew walked out directly. Mary followed him, "Matthew, what's wrong with you?"

Matthew opened the door and walked in, about to close it.

Mary quickly grabbed the door and said, "Matthew, what's going on? Are you mute? You haven't said a word."

Matthew looked at her coldly, "I don't want to talk to you. Can't you see that?"
