Chapter 728 Unable to Speak

Maria washed her hands and walked out, spotting Sean standing a short distance away, his bright eyes fixed on her.

She smiled, "What's up with you?"

Sean's tone turned colder. "What are you doing here?"

Maria walked up to him slowly, tilting her head slightly, "As your boss, I'm here to check on my employees and their families. Is that a problem?"

Sean replied, "It's not necessary."

"You're so cold," Maria stepped closer, "But you weren't like this at the hotel."

Sean's expression immediately darkened. "What do you want?"

Seeing his tense and wary look, Maria's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Will you do whatever I say?"

Sean pressed his lips together, staying silent.

Maria brushed her hair back. "I want you to kiss me."

Sean's gaze grew even colder, and he turned to leave.

Maria couldn't help but laugh. "Sean, let's see how long you can hold out."

Back in the hospital room, Isabella was already asleep.

Mary was just about to leave when she saw them return together. "Mrs. Huxley is asleep. I'll be heading out now."

Sean offered, "I'll walk you out."

Mary shook her head, "No need, you should stay with Mrs. Huxley."

Sean insisted, "There are nurses here. Let's go."

Without even a glance at Maria, he left with Mary.

Maria watched Sean's back, arms crossed. They had already slept together, yet he was still thinking about Mary?

What a jerk.

But it didn't matter.

It was just once. Do it a few more times, and Sean wouldn't be thinking about Mary anymore.

Outside the hospital, Sean looked at Mary with a complicated expression. "I..."

Mary looked at him, puzzled, "What's wrong?"

A struggle flashed in Sean's eyes. After hesitating for a while, he said, "Mary, I..."

Mary thought he was acting strange. Did he have some secret he couldn't share?

"If something's bothering you, just tell me," Mary said.

Sean sighed inwardly. He didn't have the courage to say it. He was afraid that if he did, there would be no chance left.

"Be safe on your way home."

Mary frowned slightly, "Are you sure nothing's wrong? Is someone giving you trouble?"

"No," Sean shook his head, "I just wanted to see you off."

Mary was still suspicious, but his gaze seemed sincere.

She got into her car, waved at Sean, and drove away.

"Why didn't you tell her?"

Maria walked up from behind, watching Mary's car disappear, and spoke to Sean.

Sean's eyes turned cold instantly, "Maria, I want to quit."

Maria looked at him, "Then quit. But don't say I didn't warn you. You won't find another boss like me. With your mother's condition, are you sure you can find a job with the same benefits?"

Sean's hand clenched into a fist at his side.

She was right. He couldn't.

But staying here, Maria was constantly after him.

"Sean, it's not so bad. We're both adults. Why not enjoy ourselves?" Maria placed a hand on his chest, "We were great together at the hotel, weren't we?"
