Chapter 461 She Loves Me to Death

Matthew's grip suddenly tightened, making Mary wince in pain. She shot him a questioning look.

Matthew's eyes turned icy as he said, "Don't even think about it. If you try to hurt Grandma just to get a divorce, I won't divorce you. I'll kill you and be a widower."

Mary stayed silent, thinking, 'How does he know what I'm thinking? Can he read minds?'

Matthew seemed to read her expression and added, "Your desire for a divorce is written all over your face. Do you think I can't tell?"

Mary kept quiet.

Their voices were low, and Matthew was especially close to Mary. To Richard, it looked like they were flirting.

Richard watched, fuming. He slammed the table. "Matthew, are you even listening to me?"

Matthew glanced at Richard, "I heard you. I won't divorce her."

Richard's face darkened. "Even if Mary is after your money and will do anything to get it, you still want to stay with her?"

Matthew chuckled and looked at Mary. "Are you after my money?"

Mary pressed her lips together, saying nothing.

Matthew turned to Richard, "I actually hope she is after my money. That way, she wouldn't be thinking about divorcing me."

Richard was stunned, a look of shock crossing his face. 'Does Mary actually want to divorce Matthew?' he thought.

He never expected this! He thought a girl like Mary, marrying into a wealthy family, would cling to Matthew and never consider divorce!

He never expected that the one who wanted a divorce would be Mary!

And the one unwilling to divorce was Matthew!

Richard felt both angry and amused, his face still dark. "If she wants a divorce, why won't you agree? Aren't you just wasting her life by clinging to her?"

Matthew continued to play with Mary's hand, his face calm. "Her life wouldn't be complete without me."

Mary thought Matthew was really shameless!

Richard thought so too but couldn't say it. He snorted and looked at Mary, "Do you really want a divorce?"

Mary nodded without hesitation. "Yes, so can you help me?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Matthew's grip tightened again. His cold gaze fell on her, but Mary tried to ignore it.

If Richard helped her, maybe she could really get a divorce.

Matthew sneered, "I don't agree to a divorce. No matter who helps you, you'll still be my wife!"

Mary frowned, resisting.

Linda then said, "Matthew, maybe Mary has someone she truly loves? You can't stop her from pursuing her happiness."

Matthew's expression stayed cold. "The one she loves is me. She loves me to death."

Mary and Linda fell silent.

Richard couldn't hold back. "How did I end up with such a shameless son!"

Matthew retorted, "Maybe it's genetic."

Richard's chest heaved with anger. How could he have fathered such a bastard like Matthew? It really infuriated him!

Matthew spoke coldly, "None of you should interfere in my and Mary's affairs, or I'll turn against you. Now, let's talk about Grandma's situation."
