Chapter 110 Complaining to Matthew's Grandmother
Mary's face immediately darkened.
Shirley had indeed guessed correctly.
She was forced to come back to work overtime, and it was indeed Matthew's doing.
Michael tried to ignore Mary's icy stare as he handed her the documents. "Mrs. Montagu, the data in this file is incorrect. Please double-check it."
Mary took the documents and coldly said, "If there's nothing wrong as you claimed, I won't let you off the hook."
Michael felt uneasy.
"Um... Mrs. Montagu, it was Mr. Montagu who said that, not me." Michael quickly interjected, trying to distance himself.
Mary looked at him calmly. "What's the difference between you and him?"
Michael returned to the CEO's office with a stern face, feeling like he was in for some bad luck.
He was truly caught in a difficult position!
Being the CEO's assistant was really tough!
He took out his phone and texted Sam.
Michael: [What do you think about being an assistant?]
Sam: [Nothing, I'm just a bodyguard.]
Michael: [ Consider it.]
Sam: [No.]
Sam: [Don't think that I don't know you're trying to trick me. Forget about it.]
Michael: [Okay.]
Mary opened the file and began checking it meticulously.
After she finished checking everything, a cold smile appeared on her face. She grabbed the documents and headed straight to the CEO's office.
But Matthew was already gone.
She cursed inwardly, 'Damn it! You jerk!'
Mary's face contorted with anger, and she slammed the documents against the door, creating a loud noise.
She took out her phone and called Michael.
Michael hung up immediately.
Mary felt more infuriated.
Mary continued calling, and Michael kept hanging up.
Finally, she sent a message.
Mary: [If you don't answer the phone, don't even bother calling me again!]
Before long, Michael's call came through.
"Mrs. Montagu? Have you finished checking?" Michael's voice sounded deliberate.
Mary asked, "Where are you?"
Michael replied, "Ah, I've finished my work and left. Sorry, I forgot to inform you."
Mary demanded, "Pass the phone to Matthew."
Michael glanced at Matthew sitting in the backseat, swallowed nervously, and said, "Um, Mr. Montagu and I are not together. Mrs. Montagu, why don't you call him yourself?"
Mary's temples throbbed with anger!
She had blocked that bastard Matthew's number!
Calling him meant she would have to unblock him from her blocklist!
It made her sick to her stomach!
Mary asked, "Then please ask Mr. Montagu how we should handle this situation since nothing is wrong with the document."
Michael replied, "Oh, Mr. Montagu said he made a mistake."
Mary cursed under her breath.
Before she could finish, Michael hung up.
Mary was furious!
How did she not realize before how infuriating Matthew could be?
One second, Michael said they weren't together, and the next, he relayed Matthew's words. How ironic!
Matthew wanted her to unblock him from her blocklist.
Not a chance!
Mary opened the CEO's office door, placed the documents on the table, turned around, and headed home straight.
However, Matthew's capricious behavior really got her riled up, so she had to do something about it!
Mary sat on the sofa for a while, pondering. Suddenly, she had an idea and got up, heading out.
In the serene surroundings of the sanatorium, Victoria Montagu was overjoyed to see Mary. She held her hand and began chattering about recent delicious meals and interesting things she had seen.
Mary cut to the chase, "Grandma, Matthew bullied me. Can you help me beat him up?"
