Chapter 80 What a Bastard!
She cursed inwardly, 'What a Bastard!'
Mary stomped her foot in anger!
How could there be such a despicable man in the world?
She had never regretted taking back Matthew before, but now, she truly did it. She was so angry that she almost fainted!
Now that their marriage couldn't be salvaged, what should she do?
Fuming with rage, Mary stormed upstairs. She was so upset that she couldn't even sleep!
The sky gradually brightened.
Watching the dawn rise, Mary felt a chill in her heart.
She must have done something terrible to Matthew in her past life.
That's why she was treated this way by him in this life.
Matthew owed Laura and was reluctant to divorce Mary so that Mary would be the target.
But didn't he owe Mary as well?
She was the one who took care of him!
Without her, Matthew, who had lost his memory like a blank sheet of paper, might have died long ago.
Mary chuckled bitterly.
She was truly reaping what she sowed.
With dark circles under her eyes, Mary went to the office and handed in her resignation directly.
Ignoring the manager's expression, she went back to pack her things.
She couldn't stay in this place any longer.
She was afraid she might not be able to resist the urge to stab Matthew.
Her resignation quickly landed on Matthew's desk.
His handsome and stern face was shrouded in a shadow as he held the resignation letter with his elegantly long fingers, staring at it for a while.
Then he threw the resignation letter away directly, "Denied."
Michael hesitated, "Mr. Montagu...?"
"In addition, freeze the check I signed earlier," Matthew said in a low voice.
"What check?" Michael asked.
Matthew looked at him intently.
Michael suddenly realized that it was the $30 million check that Matthew gave to Mary.
How ruthless Matthew was! He would freeze the check as soon as he got angry.
Mary might faint with anger.
As Michael turned to leave, he couldn't help but ask, "What if she comes to see you?"
"Let her," Matthew said coldly.
Michael was momentarily at a loss for words.
Since the resignation was not approved, Mary soon received the news. But she pretended not to see it and went home to pack her things, planning to move out.
Since this neighborhood was no longer safe, she had to move to Maple Grove Manor.
The security there was good. At least last night's incident wouldn't happen again.
Shirley arrived quickly, holding a bouquet, "Congratulations. You are single again!"
Mary didn't take them and said bitterly, "We haven't filed the divorce yet."
"What?" Shirley was puzzled, "Didn't you say you were going to file it this morning?"
Why didn't they go?
She leaned in, "Could it be that he found out he couldn't live without you, so he doesn't want a divorce anymore?"
Mary smirked sarcastically, "If only that were true."
Shirley was even more puzzled, "Then why?"
Mary took a deep breath and recounted Matthew's words.
"Damn!" Shirley cursed directly, throwing the flowers on the ground and stomping on them in anger!
"That damn Matthew, why won't he just die!" Shirley was so angry that she couldn't control her language, "All the good men are dead, and the world is full of these rotten scoundrels."
Mary said, "I have to divorce, but I need to figure something out."
Matthew wanted her to be a shield for Laura, but she refused to since she didn't owe Laura anything.
Shirley said, "But without his approvement, what will you do?"
A look of confusion flashed in Mary's eyes, "I don't know."
With no power or influence, she stood no chance against Matthew.
