Chapter 420 Laura Takes the Hit

That guy originally thought Mary and Matthew had something going on. Now, hearing Laura, he grabbed Mary even tighter.

"Matthew, you wanna ruin me completely, huh? Fine, I'll make sure you don't have a wife! I've got nothing to lose, so if I'm going down, I'm taking someone with me!"

His eyes were bloodshot, clearly desperate.

Mary glanced at Laura.

Was Laura doing this on purpose?

She exposed Mary and Matthew's relationship, putting Mary in danger!

The cut on Mary's neck throbbed with pain.

Mary frowned and said, "I won't hold what happened last night against you, and Matthew won't block you. You don't have to do this."

"I don't believe you!" the guy said crazily, making a few shallow cuts on Mary's neck with the knife.

Matthew's face was dark. "Let her go. I'll agree to whatever you want."

The guy looked at Matthew. "Are you serious?"

Matthew replied, "With all these people here, I won't lie to you."

The guy got excited. "I want..."

Laura saw this and clenched her fist. If this got resolved just like that, what about her?

She had to take a chance for herself!

She gritted her teeth and suddenly rushed at the guy. "If you hurt her, Matthew definitely won't let you go. If you let her go now, he might consider leaving you in one piece!"

Laura moved too fast, and by the time the guy reacted, she was already in front of him, pulling at his arm, trying to save Mary!

"You'll kill me, you'll kill me!" The guy yelled crazily, suddenly flinging Laura away and raising the knife to stab Mary!

"No!" Laura exclaimed. She was thrown against the wall. Seeing this, she rushed over, pushed Mary away, and the knife plunged into her back!

She screamed, her face going pale with pain.

Bright red blood flowed out, and the guy, terrified, let go and kept retreating.

Matthew and Michael rushed over immediately.

Matthew held Mary, checking her wound. "Are you okay?"

Mary shook her head. "I'm fine."

She looked at Laura with a complicated expression.

Laura lay on the ground in pain, blood continuously flowing from her back.

Michael had already called 911, and the scene was chaotic.

Others subdued the guy, and the cops arrived quickly.

Mary and Laura were both taken to the hospital.

Matthew kept watching Mary, seeing that the wound on her neck wasn't deep and stopped bleeding after some treatment, his tightly furrowed brows relaxed a bit.

"What exactly happened?" At this moment, Richard's voice sounded.

Matthew turned his head and saw Richard and Linda walking over, their faces full of concern.

"What are you doing here?" Matthew asked with a frown.

Richard snorted. "Laura got into such a big mess, how could we not come? Two years ago, you let her down, and now you're letting her down again for this woman. Matthew, you're truly ungrateful, not half as good as Samuel!"

Richard berated Matthew harshly, not caring about the occasion or whether Matthew would be embarrassed.

Linda tried to calm him down. "Let's see how Laura is doing first."

Richard withdrew his gaze in disgust and looked at the emergency room. The door hadn't opened yet, and Laura hadn't come out.

Matthew stood aside, enveloped in a heavy aura of gloom. His handsome and sharp face showed no expression, and no one knew what he was thinking.
