Chapter 335 Can't Stand Seeing Her with Robert

Robert leaned back, rubbing his belly. "I'm stuffed, no need to grab it."

Mary's brow furrowed. "Robert, it's no biggie, I'll go get it."

But Robert shook his head. "That guy's been tailing you. What if he shows up again when you go back?"

Mary went quiet.

Matthew showing up at the hospital just to swipe some food was totally unexpected

Robert let out a couple of sighs. "Looks like he's ticked off that you're cooking for me."

As she packed up the lunch box, Mary said, "I cook, I decide who eats. If he's mad, tough luck."

"You're spot on." Robert nodded, his eyes twinkling as he smiled at her.

Mary finished packing and said, "Robert, you can order whatever you want."

Robert's eyes widened. "For real?"

Mary nodded, her eyes sparkling. "Anything you want, I'll whip it up."

Robert scratched his chin. "Guess I gotta think about it then."

Mary chuckled. "Alright, take your time and let me know."

Robert nodded. "Sure thing, I'll let you know once I decide."

Mary said, "I'll head out now, don't wanna disturb your rest."

Robert looked at her. "How long have you been here? I've been resting all day. Just hang out and chat with me."

Mary hesitated.

It felt like she and Robert weren't quite at the "talk about anything" stage yet.

Robert asked, "You quit the DK Group, what's next?"

Mary shook her head. "Haven't figured it out yet."

She had enough cash to live comfortably without working.

Robert said, "You're still young, you should find something to keep busy. Doing nothing all day can drive you nuts."

Mary said, "Yeah, I'll think about it."

Robert suggested, "Why not join my company? I'm short on people."

Mary laughed. "Robert, stop kidding. I'm not that skilled. What if I screw things up?"

He looked at her and said, "It's cool, whatever happens, I'll cover for you."

Mary was about to respond when the door swung open and Joan walked in.

"Why are you here again?" Joan's smile vanished when she saw Mary.

Her eyes narrowed as she quickly approached. "You're married, you shouldn't be here all the time. Robert's single. What if people get the wrong idea?"

"Joan!" Robert hadn't expected her, but he quickly realized someone must've called her over.

Someone who couldn't stand him being with Mary.

Joan ignored Robert and turned to Mary. "You should leave and not come back. I don't want people thinking Robert's involved with a married woman."

Mary's clear eyes turned icy. "And you are?"

Joan lifted her chin. "I'm Joan Bailey!"

Mary asked, "What's your relationship with Robert?"
