Chapter 210 Finding Biological Parents
Mary was surprised and said, "But I've never been to a fancy banquet. I'm worried I'll mess up."
Robert replied, "Don't worry, just look stunning."
Mary nodded. "Alright, just promise not to scold me if I mess up."
Robert chuckled. "I won't."
Mary continued packing her things.
She didn't have much, and it all fit into one suitcase. After packing, she felt a bit dazed and mused, 'Have I really owned so little after living here for so long?'
Maybe she never considered this place home from the start.
A hint of sadness crossed Mary's eyes. She zipped up the suitcase and carried it out the door.
She gave Robert the password.
Henodded, took the suitcase, and said, "Let's go."
"Okay."
Mary left Maple Grove Manor and went straight back to her old apartment.
She hadn't been back in a while, and the place was a bit messy.
Mary said, a bit embarrassed, "I haven't been back in a while. I need to clean up first. Robert, please wait a moment."
Robert nodded, his eyes flickering as he looked at the simple two-bedroom apartment.
Robert wondered, 'Had Mary and Matthew really lived here for the past year?
But there are no signs of Matthew's presence. Have she cleaned it all up?'
Mary tidied up the living room and then made coffee for Robert. "Robert, have a seat."
Robert said, "I can help."
However, Mary shook her head. "No need, you just rest. Almost done."
Robert watched her deft movements, his smile deepening. "Isn't today a workday? Did you quit your job?"
"Yes, I resigned," Mary said calmly.
Robert asked, "Did you handle it that quickly? What's next? Want to join my company?"
Mary kept cleaning while saying, "I just made a lot of money. I'm not planning to find a job right away. I want to enjoy life first."
Robert smiled. "That's a good idea."
The small apartment was cleaned up in less than an hour. Mary sat on the sofa, took a sip of water, and looked around, feeling like she was in a different world.
She suddenly sighed and said, "Robert, how can a person change so much with and without memory??"
Robert's eyes flickered, and he said, "I don't know about others, but I definitely won't. Adding some memories doesn't change that much."
Mary looked at him, "Really?"
Robert looked at her seriously, "You bet."
Her eyes flickered, then she smiled faintly, "Oh."
Seeing her somewhat lost expression, Robert felt a strange sensation but didn't dwell on it. Instead, he said slowly, "Mary, you're an orphan. Have you ever thought about finding your biological parents?"
"Finding my biological parents?"
Robert nodded. "Your life is too simple. That's why you invest all your heart when someone new appears You should look for your biological parents and make more friends."
Mary began to think seriously. She had grown up in an orphanage and had never thought about finding her biological parents.
