Chapter 164 He Signed the Divorce Agreement

"Robert, why the sudden interest in the Montagu family?" someone asked, surprised.

Robert replied calmly, "My dad expects me to achieve something, and I have a plan."

The other person was even more surprised, "Are you going back to the Williams family? I thought you weren't interested."

Robert said, "I am now. Is that a problem?"

"Of course not! Just wait. I'll find out soon!" the other person exclaimed.

The call ended, and a glint of intrigue flashed in Robert's eyes.

He pondered, 'What could have happened?'

Mary's pale face flashed in his mind, and Robert's grip on the steering wheel tightened.

Mary had waited two days, but the test results still weren't out. That morning, she went to work as usual and found Michael at the door.

Mary was puzzled, "What's up?"

Michael smiled professionally and handed her a document, "This is a divorce agreement. Mr. Montagu has signed it. With your signature, your marriage will be dissolved immediately."

Mary paused, her grip on the door handle tightening, her knuckles turning white. The divorce she had long hoped for had come. Should she be happy or sad?

Mary scoffed, "Matthew, how ruthless you are!"

Matthew falsely accused her and now wanted to cast her aside, blaming her for everything.

Dream on!

"Let me see it," Mary said, reaching out.

Michael handed her the agreement, thinking his task was almost done as long as she signed it.

Mary read it seriously, then suddenly tore it to pieces!

Michael was astonished, "Ms. Smith, what are you doing?"

Hadn't Mary wanted a divorce all along? Now that she was finally getting it, why did she tear up the divorce agreement?

Mary's eyes turned cold, "I want a divorce, but not now. I didn't poison anyone. I want my name cleared, and he must apologize. Otherwise, not gonna happen!"

Matthew wanted to blame her and then abandon her. Not a chance!

Mary threw the shredded paper into the trash and went to work.

Michael felt helpless. How had things gone beyond his imagination?

In the hospital, after hearing Michael's words, Matthew's face darkened.

Herman said, "She's stubborn. When you accused her, she must be angry."

Matthew's lips parted slightly, "Keep delivering it until she agrees to sign."

Michael replied, "Yes, Mr. Montagu."

Herman chuckled, "Before, she wanted a divorce, and you disagreed. Now you want a divorce, and she disagrees. What are you two doing?"

Matthew's gaze fell on the laptop. He had recovered somewhat and started working. He didn't respond to Herman but asked, "How's the investigation going?"

Herman's expression grew serious, "They are good. We haven't found anything suspicious. Matthew, are you certain about this?"

"I am," Matthew said coldly. "To achieve his goals, he'd go to any lengths. Either you haven't found anything, or he's hiding it well."

Herman took a bite of an apple and remarked, "True, he did everything to kill you. I have to say, you're lucky."
