Chapter 573 Becoming a Rich Woman
Matthew looked at him with a bit more impatience, "What solution? Hurry up and tell me!"
Anthony fell silent once again. After a while, he finally said, "Take it gradually. Don't get close to her right away. Let her slowly accept you."
Matthew frowned, "Isn't there a faster way?"
Anthony mocked, "How did you manage your life before you had a wife? Now that you have one, you can't wait even a day?"
"Yes, I can't wait even a day," Matthew said this very calmly.
Anthony was undone by his shamelessness.
With a stern face, he said, "No, there's no other way."
Putting his glasses back on, he said, "Hurry up and leave, don't delay my next patient."
Matthew knew Anthony wouldn't lie to him. He didn't look too good, but still got up and left.
Mary's expression was even colder. She followed him the whole time, and as soon as they left the hospital, she immediately turned and walked in another direction.
Matthew didn't call her back. He watched her slender figure and took out a cigarette from his pocket, lighting it.
What a tricky situation.
When Mary arrived at the company, she saw Maria in a meeting. She didn't go in to disturb her but stood at the door listening for a while.
Soon, the meeting ended.
Maria walked over and asked, "What happened? Why are you so late?"
Mary said, "Mrs. Montagu wasn't feeling well. I went to the hospital to see her. Fortunately, it was nothing serious."
Hearing this, Maria nodded, "It's good that she's okay. But didn't you and Matthew get divorced? Why did you go to the hospital to see Victoria? Are you planning to remarry?" Did that mean her task was complete?
Mary said, "Mrs. Montagu was very good to me before. She's seriously ill; I had no reason not to visit her."
Maria smiled, "That's not bad. You and Matthew should spend more time together. If you remarry, my studio will have a strong backing, right?"
Mary forced a smile, "I'm going to work."
Maria, "Alright, go ahead."
As soon as Mary sat down, her phone rang. She took it out and saw it was a call from Shirley. Her heart sank, and she immediately answered.
"Shirley, what's wrong?"
Shirley's voice came through, "I'm fine, don't worry too much. I'm calling to let you know that Herman, that bastard, has sent people to follow me. I'm afraid I can't leave Lindenwood City."
Mary's expression darkened.
As expected.
Herman and Matthew's tactics were exactly the same.
Shirley continued, "I've been thinking, since I can't escape, I might as well enjoy it. After all, he's a billionaire. Maybe after a while, he'll get tired of me, and when we part ways, I might be able to walk away with a lot of money."
Mary was silent.
Shirley chuckled, "Mary, do you think this plan is feasible?"
Mary worriedly said, "I'm just afraid he won't let you go that easily."
"Even better. If he can't live without me, then he'll marry me, and I'll become his wife, achieving the best in life." Shirley was very optimistic. Her biggest dream in life was to become a rich woman.
Mary fell silent again.
She and Shirley never thought the same way.
She couldn't be as carefree as Shirley.
Maybe Shirley's idea was the right one.
