Chapter 604 Burying That Love
Shirley couldn't hold back and burst out laughing. She looked at Sean and asked, "Are you dreaming?"
Sean tugged at his lips, not making it too obvious.
However, Matthew ignored the two of them, his dark eyes staring intently at Mary.
The elevator doors had already closed and it was ascending automatically.
Mary said, "I never said I would invite you."
Matthew's handsome face remained indifferent, "It's not too late for you to say it now."
Shirley suddenly said to Sean, "Are all men this shameless?"
Sean replied, "Not all of them."
Shirley touched her chin, "Or is it that they all have selective hearing? Do they just tune out what they don't want to hear?"
This time, Sean didn't say anything.
Because, indeed, it was true.
Matthew's cold, sharp gaze fell directly on Shirley's face. She refused to back down, glaring at him with wide eyes and even raising her chin.
However, the pressure emanating from Matthew was too overwhelming. Despite Shirley's brave front, she couldn't hold out for long and soon looked away, feeling guilty.
A trace of disdain flashed in Matthew's eyes. Just as he was about to say something, the elevator doors opened.
Mary pushed past him and walked out directly, with Shirley and Sean following behind her.
Matthew watched as them entered Mary's home, his eyes turning cold.
He muttered to himself, "First, there was Robert. Now another Sean? Mary, you must be a magnet for men!"
Shirley poked Mary's arm, "Mary, has he always been this shameless?"
Mary looked helpless, "You're just realizing this now?"
Shirley thought for a moment and said, "But I remember, he wasn't like this before. Back then, whenever I teased him, he would blush, and his eyes would always be glued to you. He was very obedient and never did what you told him not to do."
A trace of sadness flashed in Mary's eyes, "There's nothing we can do; that's how he used to be."
Shirley sighed, "I still don't get it. He just regained his memory, he didn't lose the memories of that year. How could he change so much?"
As if a thought struck her, she widened her eyes, "Oh my God! Could he be possessed by someone else's soul? Is the person inside his body actually someone else's soul?"
Mary was speechless and said, "Shirley, your imagination is too wild."
Shirley said, "Isn't that how it's written in novels? Otherwise, how do you explain his drastic change?"
Mary shook her head, "I don't know how to explain it, and forget it."
She had completely buried the memory of the old Matthew and didn't want to bring him up again. The current Matthew was nothing like his former self, except for his identical face.
Mary didn’t want to discuss it any further, so she turned her attention to Sean. "Shall we talk in the study?"
Sean nodded, "Sure."
The two of them entered the study together.
Mary didn't forget to say to Shirley, "Bring in two cups of coffee."
Shirley stayed silent, but inside she was fuming. How had she ended up as a secretary?
But this was exactly what she wanted to see. As long as Mary wasn't with Matthew, she supported her being with anyone else.
By the time they finished their discussion, it was already late at night.
Sean looked a bit apologetic, "I originally just wanted to invite you to dinner, but I ended up bothering you so late. I'm really sorry."
