Chapter 561 Stay Away from Robert
Was she mistaken?
Mary said, "Okay, I got it. You should rest early. I won't be going out today."
"Okay, Ms. Smith."
Mary quickly washed up and lay down on the bed. Her mind was still a mess, but her body was already very tired. She soon fell asleep.
When she woke up, it was already afternoon.
Mary picked up her phone and saw many messages from Shirley, all talking about her escape plan.
Mary replied with several messages, then got up to wash her face and went to cook.
Just then, the doorbell suddenly rang.
Mary's expression changed suddenly. Who would come at this time?
She walked to the door and saw Matthew through the peephole. Her face immediately turned pale.
She ignored it and continued cooking.
Matthew waited for a while. He knew she didn't want to open the door.
He continued knocking patiently.
About half an hour later, the door finally opened.
Mary looked at him coldly, holding a kitchen knife in her hand. "What do you want?"
Matthew glanced at the knife in her hand and then looked at her face. The knife didn't seem to pose any threat.
"Can't I come to see you for no reason?"
"No."
Mary said decisively.
After speaking, she tried to close the door.
Matthew suddenly reached out to block the door and stepped forward to enter.
Seeing this, Mary immediately raised the kitchen knife and pointed it at him. "Don't come in!"
Matthew chuckled, ignored the knife, and continued walking forward.
"Mary, I bet you don't dare to cut me."
Mary's heart sank, and she immediately raised the knife and swung it towards his shoulder!
Matthew didn't dodge or flinch, just looked at her calmly.
The knife stopped just short of his shoulder, and Mary's hand was trembling slightly.
"You lunatic!"
He didn't dodge!
Was he not afraid of death?
Matthew grabbed her hand, took the knife, and placed it in a nearby cabinet. His deep voice was very calm. "Mary, I'm just here to tell you to stay away from Robert. He's not as simple as he seems."
Mary pulled her hand back and laughed. "Mr. Montagu, we're already divorced. Who I interact with has nothing to do with you, right?"
Matthew frowned. He didn't like how distant she was with him.
"Robert is just an illegitimate child, but he worked his way up to his current position through means. Do you think he's a simple person?" Matthew said in a deep voice.
Mary's expression remained pale. "I don't care if he's simple or not. What I care about is that he's good to me!"
She grabbed the door handle. "Mr. Montagu, I don't think our relationship is close enough to discuss these things. Don't come to see me again, or I'll call the police and report you for harassment."
After speaking, she forcefully tried to close the door.
"Harassing you?" Matthew used a bit of strength to stop her from closing the door. He laughed as if he had heard a joke.
Mary felt a sense of unease rising in her chest and looked at him warily.
Matthew walked straight in and closed the door behind him.
"Mary, you've already accused me of harassment. If I don't do something, wouldn't I be at a disadvantage?"
