Chapter 597 I Want to Hold You Now
"Don't move." Matthew held her tightly. "Mary, I want to hold you right now."
Mary rolled her eyes. After climbing all the way up, she didn't have much strength left to struggle. Her face pressed against his chest as she looked at the scenery outside the mountain, her breathing gradually calming down.
Unconsciously, the heartbeat in her ears grew faster, as if it was about to burst out of his chest.
Mary's long eyelashes fluttered. "Matthew, are you out of mind?"
Matthew's arms tightened around her, then suddenly loosened. "Mary, I want to kiss you."
Mary immediately pushed him away. "Don't push your luck."
Matthew's narrow eyes fixed on her lips, and he was eager to try.
Mary quickly covered her mouth, looking at him warily.
Matthew smirked, "Do you think you can avoid it by covering your mouth? If I want to, you'll never escape."
Mary rolled her eyes and turned back to continue looking at the distant scenery.
After the recent shouting, the gloom that had been weighing on her heart seemed to have lifted.
She took out her phone, snapped some photos and videos, recording everything.
She turned around to ask when they would leave, only to see Matthew holding up his phone, pointing it at her. She had no idea how long he had been filming.
Mary frowned. "Are you filming me?"
Matthew replied, "I'm filming the scenery."
Mary walked over. "But your phone is clearly pointed at me."
Matthew put his phone away and said flatly, "Who told you to stand in the scenery?"
Mary's breath hitched. "Delete the photos."
Matthew said, "You can't tell me what to do. It's my phone."
Mary was speechless. That sense of helplessness resurfaced in her heart.
Matthew looked at her and suddenly said, "But if you kiss me, I might consider deleting one photo."
Mary ignored him and walked to a nearby shop, buying a bottle of water.
Seeing this, Matthew asked, "Where's mine?"
Mary took a sip, her dry lips instantly becoming moist. "When did I say I was buying you one?"
Matthew sat beside her and suddenly snatched the bottle from her hand, taking a big gulp.
"You!" Mary exclaimed, utterly lost for words.
Matthew handed her the bottle with just a bit of water left. "I saved you some. No need to thank me."
"Jerk!" Mary nearly cursed out loud as she stood up and moved further away from him.
Matthew followed her, but there wasn't much space at the top of the mountain. Mary finally moved to the edge of a bench, with no more room to move. She turned back and glared at Matthew angrily.
Matthew seemed unfazed, still sitting close to her.
The mountain wind blew, adding a bit of chill.
Mary got up and walked towards the cable car, paid, and got on.
Matthew, knowing Mary wouldn't pay for him, took out his phone and paid for himself.
After descending the mountain, her mood was completely different from when they had come up.
Mary looked at the scenery outside the window, her expression more relaxed.
Just then, her phone rang. She looked at the caller ID; it was Robert.
She glanced up at Matthew. If he knew it was Robert, he might throw her phone out.
