Chapter 227 Are You Childish?
Mary had no choice but to keep walking in the rain since there was no shelter around.
A car zoomed by, splashing water all over her.
"Just my luck," she thought.
She stood there, letting the rain pour down, then sighed and kept walking.
The car stopped ahead.
As she got closer, the rear window rolled down, revealing Matthew's face.
"Get in," he said.
Mary clenched her fists. "Matthew, are you being childish?"
She knew he did it on purpose.
Matthew glanced at Michael in the front seat. "Why weren't you more careful?"
Then he looked at Mary. "He didn't recognize you."
Mary laughed coldly and thought, 'Does he really think I'd buy that?'
She got in the car, wringing out her wet clothes, making a mess.
Matthew frowned but stayed silent.
Mary shook her hair, splashing water everywhere, including on Matthew.
He regretted letting her in.
After a bit, she leaned back and gave the name of her hotel.
Matthew said, "You think this is a taxi?"
Mary shot back, "You told me to get in, so I decide where we go."
Matthew glared. "Then get out."
He looked at Michael and ordered, "Stop the car."
Mary was furious.
But the rain was heavier, and there were no other cars. If she got out, she'd definitely catch a cold.
She finally asked, "Where are you going?"
Matthew ignored her.
Michael restarted the car and kept driving.
Mary, feeling awkward, stayed quiet.
With the warm air blowing, she sneezed twice.
The car soon reached the Opulent Oasis Hotel's underground garage.
Mary got out without looking back.
Matthew watched her walk away, his tone icy, "Where are you going?"
"Back to my hotel," she replied.
Matthew's expression hardened.
He thought, 'Does she really not want to stay with me?'
He turned to Michael. "I need you to do something."
Michael was stunned but followed orders.
Mary reached the Opulent Oasis Hotel entrance, finding the rain heavier and no cars around.
Her phone was dead when she tried to call for a ride.
She asked the front desk for help, but the receptionist said, "Sorry, we can't help non-guests."
Mary sat on the lobby sofa, sneezing one after another..
She decided to wait for the rain to stop.
Five minutes later, the hotel manager, Loren Schneider, approached her.
