Chapter 304 Sold the House

Mary's crib still hadn't sold, and barely anyone had checked it out online.

She couldn't help but think, 'Why hasn't anyone snatched it up? It's a two-bedroom in a prime spot.'

She ditched her suitcase at the hotel and headed back to her place in Maple Estates.

She was momentarily stunned when she opened the door.

She hadn't been back in ages, and everything felt weird and out of place.

Mostly 'cause there were too many memories of her and Matthew here.

So many that she didn't even wanna look at the house.

She wandered around, and just then, her phone buzzed. It was the real estate agent.

"Hello?" Mary answered.

The agent said someone was interested in her house and wanted to buy it, asking when she could come back to discuss it.

Mary's face lit up. "I can come now."

The agent said, "I'll contact the buyer, and you can meet to discuss it."

"Okay," Mary agreed right away.

She hadn't expected the house to sell just as she got back.

She didn't leave but instead did a quick clean-up. After she finished, the phone rang again; the buyer had arrived.

Mary went to the elevator to wait. After a bit, the elevator doors opened, and the agent led out a hot, sexy woman.

The woman was a stunner, with captivating eyes. She smiled at Mary, "Hello."

Mary paused and extended her hand, "Nice to meet you, I'm Mary Smith."

The woman winked at her but didn't introduce herself.

Mary found it a bit odd but didn't dwell on it and started to show the house.

The woman walked around a few times and finally stood on the balcony, asking, "This place is nice. Why are you selling it?"

Mary smiled faintly, "I wanna move to a new city."

The woman's eyes flickered at her words, and then she said, "Alright, I'll buy it. Can we sign the contract now?"

Mary was surprised and thought, 'So straightforward? She doesn't even haggle over the price?'

Mary's asking price was a bit higher than the market rate.

Sensing her hesitation, the woman asked, "What? Is there a problem?"

"No."

Mary snapped out of it and looked at the agent.

The agent had already prepared the contract. Both parties signed, and the deposit was paid. The next step was to handle the transfer procedures.

The woman said, "I've got time now, let's get this done."

Mary nodded.

The whole process was quick and smooth. When she handed over the keys, Mary suddenly felt a bit lost.

The woman looked at her and asked, "Do you regret it?"

Her words were kinda cryptic butMary couldn't figure out what was off. So she smiled slightly and said, "Can't dwell on the past, gotta keep moving forward. I don't regret it."

The woman nodded, "That's a good mindset. I've got something to do, so I'll leave now."

"Goodbye."

Mary watched her walk out. Looking at the balance in her bank account on her phone, surprisingly, she didn't feel very happy.

She had worked hard in this city for several years, and in the end, all she had left were these numbers.

Maria got into the car and immediately dialed Matthew's number. "Boss, everything's done."

Matthew's tone was a bit colder, "What did she say?"

Maria chuckled, flipping her hand to admire her nails, and repeated Mary's words.

"Ms. Smith is quite an insightful person, Boss. Honestly, you don't deserve her."
