Chapter 696 Surround Them
His tie hung loosely around his neck, giving off a wild vibe that seemed ready to break free.
His entrance made several women scream.
Shirley grabbed Mary's arm excitedly. "He's so hot! I really want to touch his abs. I bet they feel amazing."
Mary watched the man for a moment, feeling relatively unmoved.
As the music played, the man began to dance, removing an article of clothing with each crescendo.
First went the tie, followed by the shirt, then the belt. Finally, he stood bare-chested, concluding his performance.
The lights changed again, and he grabbed a microphone. As the music started up once more, he began to sing, walking to the front of the stage. He reached out and took a woman's hand, interlocking their fingers, gazing at her with such intensity it seemed like the lyrics were love confessions meant just for her.
Mary turned to Shirley. "This is the grand finale you were talking about?"
Shirley blinked. "Not thrilling enough for you? If you're brave enough, you can touch his pecs and abs!"
Mary leaned back. "I'm not that interested."
Shirley, however, said, "I am. If he comes over here, I'm definitely touching him!"
Mary was speechless.
Shirley looked eager. "I paid for this. If I don't touch him, it's a waste of money."
Mary was at a loss for words again.
Sure enough, the man soon made his way to Shirley, interlocking their fingers and staring intently at her.
While other girls would shyly cover their faces, Shirley was different. She suddenly stood up, smiling broadly at the man, and reached out to touch his abs.
A chorus of gasps erupted from the crowd.
The man was clearly taken aback by her bold move but quickly regained his composure and continued singing.
However, his interaction with Shirley was the shortest, and he seemed eager to move away from her.
Shirley sat back down, saying, "Not as great as I thought."
Mary laughed. "Now you feel like it was even more of a waste of money, right?"
"You're right. Before I touched him, I thought I shouldn't waste the opportunity. But after touching him, I realized it was a total waste." Shirley shook her head.
Mary picked up her glass. "Let's just drink."
Shirley clinked her glass with Mary's, and they continued drinking and watching the show.
The lively atmosphere was infectious, keeping everyone in high spirits.
Mary's earlier annoyance had vanished, replaced by a smile.
"Would you like to have a drink with me, ladies?"
At that moment, a man approached and sat down next to them, trying to strike up a conversation.
Mary glanced at him. "No thanks, I'm heading home."
The man was taken aback. "Come on, it's still early."
Mary's expression turned colder. "None of your business."
The man, chastised, looked displeased but said nothing more and walked away.
Mary turned to Shirley. "Let's go."
Shirley nodded. "Good idea. It's easier to get a cab at this time."
They grabbed their coats and left, not noticing that the man and his friends had their eyes on them.
As they stepped out of the bar, a cold wind blew, making Mary shiver. She walked to the curb to hail a cab.
But just then, a group of men quickly approached and surrounded them.
