Chapter 801 This Matter Won't Work Without a Million Dollars
Mary shot back, "Go ahead, report us. But before you do, remember you were the ones making a scene and trying to get physical. That's enough for the cops to haul you in."
The middle-aged woman was stunned at first, then looked a bit guilty. She definitely didn't want to end up at the police station.
Her eyes darted around as she said, "Let's not go there. If my daughter's inside, why can't I see her? She's been through so much and kept it from us. We're really worried about her."
Worried? Didn't seem like it!
Mary replied, "With the way you just acted, it looked like you wanted to tear her apart. How could I let you see her? She needs to rest. You should just go home."
"You!" The woman was not pleased. "How can you tell us to leave? Nora and I are family. No matter what, you're just an outsider. Even if you call the cops, you have no right to stop me from seeing my daughter. Move aside!"
She reached out to push Mary, but Mary stepped back, avoiding her touch. But the truth was, Mary couldn't keep them from seeing Nora forever. So what now? Pay them off? Absolutely not.
Mary's expression grew colder as the woman reached out again. Just then, the door to the hospital room opened.
Nora stepped out.
Seeing her, the woman's eyes lit up. "You little brat, you finally came out. Keep hiding, go on! You lied to us. Do you know how hard it's been without your money? I gave birth to you, so you should support me!"
She reached out to grab Nora, who winced in pain, her face paling. Despite her fear of her family, she mustered the courage to say, "Don't blame Mary. I was the one who hit her. My broken arm has nothing to do with her!"
"Nothing to do with her? She just admitted she hit you. You only have one arm, and now it's broken. How will you earn money to support the family? What about your brother's education? What about us? You ungrateful brat!"
The woman continued her tirade, reaching out to grab Nora again.
Mary quickly intervened, frowning. "Is this how you solve problems? She's a patient and needs to recover. If you keep causing trouble, I won't hold back!"
"And what are you going to do? I'd like to see you try. Are you going to hit me? Go ahead, hit me right here!" The woman taunted, pointing to her face as she approached Mary.
Mary was exasperated by the woman's shameless behavior. There was no reasoning with someone like this!
Seeing Mary's frustrated expression, the woman smirked triumphantly. But before she could say anything else, a sudden force knocked her to the ground!
She cried out in pain, staying down. "Who kicked me? My back! It hurts so much! Call a doctor! Check if my back is broken! I'm telling you, if you broke my back, you owe me a million dollars, or you'll be facing jail time!"
