Mary remained silent.
Although she had noticed something off between Herman and Shirley last time, hearing Shirley say it out loud still left her speechless.

Shirley nodded, "Okay, I'll find a scenic town. When you come, we'll open a small restaurant, and you can be the boss."
Mary was amused by her. The atmosphere was very relaxed, but for some reason, an uneasy feeling surfaced in her heart.
She quickly suppressed her thoughts. This was not the time for wild imaginings.
After they finished eating, Shirley said a lot more, her words full of reluctance to part with Mary.
Mary felt a bit helpless, "You were abroad for several months last time. Just think of this as the same."
Shirley leaned on her shoulder, "I'll try."

Mary didn't sleep; instead, she began cooking food for the road

Standing in the kitchen, Mary felt the world was truly absurd.
Matthew was like this, and so was Herman.

Shirley slept until a little past midnight. When she came out of the room yawning, she saw Mary packing.
Shirley asked in confusion, "Mary, what are you doing?"
