Chapter 581 Is She Willing?
"He is..." Mary choked with emotion.
Robert said, "Yes, he is a bodyguard for the Montagu family, and he looks very similar to Gerald. When he wears a hat and mask, you can't tell if he's Gerald or himself."
Mary's voice trembled slightly, "So, is this bodyguard still with the Montagu family?"
"Yes." Robert nodded and shared all the information he had gathered with her.
Mary closed her eyes, and she inclined to believe that Matthew knew about this.
If he really knew, why didn't he say anything?
What exactly did he want to do?
Robert put away his phone and looked at her pale face, "Mary, I think you should be careful with him. No one can guess his thoughts. He knows Gerald is innocent but still won't let him go. So in the future, if the same thing happens to you, will your fate be the same as Gerald's?"
Hearing this, Mary felt very disheartened.
Her fate would be the same as Gerald's.
Even though they were already divorced, Matthew never intended to let her go. She didn't know how long she could maintain this twisted relationship; she was already physically and mentally exhausted.
Mary looked at Robert's handsome and delicate face and suddenly said, "Robert, can you help me leave?"
Robert's eyes darkened a bit, "Where do you want to go?"
Mary was about to say something, when the sound of footsteps interrupted her.
She turned pale with fright and saw Matthew standing not far away. She didn't know how much of their conversation he had overheard!
Although there was some distance and the environment was noisy, Mary still felt guilty for being caught.
Robert immediately stood in front of her, frowning at Matthew, "Mr. Montagu, do you have a habit of eavesdropping?"
Matthew raised an eyebrow, holding a cigarette in his hand, "This is a public place. If you can come here, why can't I?"
He walked over. He was as tall as Robert but exuded a colder and more intimidating aura. He looked at Robert disdainfully and said, "Are you trying to seduce my wife?"
Robert said in a deep voice, "You two are already divorced."
"Really?" Matthew chuckled, "Divorced or not, we can always remarry. It's a piece of cake for me."
Robert frowned, "Do you truly love Mary?"
"Love?" Matthew seemed to hear a funny joke, "It doesn't matter. As long as she's by my side, that's enough."
Robert realized he couldn't reason with MatthewOnce Matthew decided on something, no one could change it.
Robert said, "Mr. Montagu, you also want her to stay with you willingly, right?"
Matthew tilted his head to look at Mary, who was hiding behind Robert, "Aren't you willing?"
Mary pressed her lips together and said nothing, but her attitude was clear.
Matthew, however, said indifferently, "If she wants to willingly go somewhere else, she needs my permission first."
With that, he pushed Robert aside and looked at Mary's wary eyes. He chuckled softly, suddenly stepped forward, and trapped Mary against the balcony railing.
Mary was startled and instinctively grabbed his clothes, "What are you doing?"
