Chapter 402 Why are you apologizing to him?

Matthew and Mary showed up in under an hour.

Mary rushed upstairs and found Shirley still in the bathtub, shivering in cold water, looking miserable.

"Shirley?" Mary's fingers shook a bit as she touched Shirley's face.

Shirley barely opened her eyes and gave a smile that was more like a grimace. "Mary, I almost died. I'm gonna make those jerks pay!"

Mary grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her. "Can you walk?"

Shirley nodded. "The drug's worn off."

Mary's eyes turned icy as she helped Shirley out of the tub.

The butler had already laid out some women's clothes on the cabinet.

Mary grabbed them and handed them over. "Get dressed. We're getting revenge."

Shirley perked up, quickly dried off, and changed into the clothes.

"These are huge!" Shirley complained, looking at the baggy tracksuit. She looked like a kid in grown-up clothes.

Mary shrugged. "It's what we've got. Better than wet clothes."

Shirley rolled up the pant legs and sleeves a few times before heading out.

Downstairs, Matthew and Herman were on the couch in the living room.

As soon as they walked in, Matthew's eyes locked onto Mary, his lips a tight line, tension radiating from him.

Shirley was the first to speak. "Matthew, you're useless. You even have a mole in your crew? It's dangerous around you. You should divorce Mary ASAP. This time it was me, what if it's her next time?"

Even though she knew it wasn't Matthew's fault, Shirley couldn't hold back her anger. She had to let it out.

She never liked Matthew, and now she had the perfect chance to take a few shots at him.

Matthew shot her a cold look. "Saving you was totally a waste."

Shirley wanted to snap back, but Mary held her hand. "Do you want to rest first or go see those people?"

Shirley said, "I want to kill them!"

Mary turned to Matthew. "Where are they being held?"

Matthew's eyes narrowed. "Don't you have anything to say to me?"

Mary's eyelashes fluttered. "I misunderstood you. I'm sorry."

Shirley jumped in. "Why are you apologizing to him? Hasn't he misunderstood you enough before?"

Mary stayed silent.

The living room felt like it was freezing over.

Herman finally spoke up, "Let's go deal with those people first. Don't argue in my house."

He got up and headed out.

Mary and Shirley followed, with Matthew trailing behind.

Outside the villa, Matthew grabbed Mary's hand and pulled her into the car.

Shirley tried to get in but found the door locked. She gritted her teeth and stood by the car, fuming.

Herman glanced at her, then walked over and yanked her into his car by the collar.

"You better behave, or I'll kick you out of the car!" Herman warned once they were in the car. His face still stung from her slap.

Shirley buckled up. "Don't worry, I value my life."

Herman sneered, "You better."
